Department of Energy Safety Manager (SRS) Savannah River Site , Aiken South Carolina). 2010-Present. The K-area cooling tower was built back in the 1950’s and was never used. This project is to implode the 300’ stack and allow ample area of falling and clearing the debris. This project required a security clearance.

Wind Energy Development Experience
Construction Site Health and Safety Manager (Whispering Willow Wind Farm, Hardin County Iowa, Flat Ridge Wind Farm, Westar Energy and BP Alternative Energy, Barber County, Kansas).2008- 2009. The Flat Ridge Wind Farm includes 40 Clipper 2.5 MW C-96 wind turbine generators to generate 100 MW of renewable energy. RMT performed the transmission line work, which consists of one 34.5 kV to 138 kV project substation, one 138 kV five breaker radial bus interconnection switching substation, and a 4.6 mile, 138 kV transmission line connecting the wind farm to the interconnection substation. Project elements reviewed for health and safety compliance included construction of substations, underground electrical collection systems, and wind turbine commissioning. Responsibilities included:

Construction Site Health and Safety Manager (Edom Hills Wind Farm, BP Wind Energy, Riverside County, California). 2008. The upgraded Edom Hills Wind Farm consists of 8 Clipper Liberty 2.5 MW turbines for a total capacity of 20 MW. RMT disassembled 139 old tower foundations and associated infrastructure, and was responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction of the new 34.5 kV collection system and upgrade of the 115 kV interconnection substation, as well as the construction of access roads, foundations, and erection of the new turbines. Project elements reviewed for health and safety compliance included demolition of existing wind structures; construction of substations, civil infrastructure, foundations, underground electrical collection systems; and wind turbine erection and commissioning. Responsibilities included:

Department of Energy Safety Manager (MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility, Aiken South Carolina). 2007-2008. The MOX fuel fabrication facility is designed to destroy nuclear warheads and turn them into energy pellets to provide energy for states in the Southeast. The project required a high level of security clearance. Responsibilities included:

Site Safety and Health Officer (Army Reserve Maintenance Facility, Greenville, South Carolina). 2005-2007. Project consisted of constructing an Army Reserve maintenance facility under the strict guidelines of the Army Corps of Engineers. Responsibilities included:
ï® Preparing site safety and accident hazard analysis.
ï® Conducting safety orientations for onsite workers and visitors.
ï® Providing troubleshooting for all safety and health issues that came up onsite.
ï® Enforcing Corps of Engineers and OSHA safety guidelines and criteria.
ï® Developing site-specific health and safety policies and leading safety meetings.
ï® Coordinating OSHA inspections and maintaining site compliance with OSHA regulations.
Director of Construction Safety (Orange County Public Schools, Orlando Florida). 2000-2005. Project involved developing and overseeing the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) for all new and rebuilt schools in Orange County, Florida. Approximately 14 schools were built or rebuilt per year. Specific responsibilities included:
ï® Developing OCIP safety guidelines.
ï® Conducting inspections of all schools being constructed or rebuilt under OCIP for compliance with OSHA and OCIP safety standards.
ï® Providing tool box meetings, safety symposiums, and additional worker training.
ï® Enforcing all standards for the safety of the workers and facilities.
ï® Exercising authority to shut down unsafe projects until corrective actions were implemented.
ï® Following up every visit with a closing of findings to the site general contractor and sending inspection records to Orange County School Board.
