1998 - 2000 FASTRAC ELECTRIC - JUPITER, FL
POSITION: FIELD SUPERINTENDENT

or (561) 743-8055 (Leo Blyth)
Responsible for coordinating all phases of the Coral Reef Elementary School project in Boynton Beach, Florida from the underground through C.O. Coral Reef was the first school built in the "Classrooms First" construction project by the Palm Beach County School District. This school bid out with an 18-month completion date, which was amended to 12 months due to the faster than anticipated pace of construction. It was completed in 11 months and came in over $1M under the $10M budget (see attached). This was accomplished through cooperation between the general contractor and all sub-contractors and a spirit of teamwork, both of which I feel were enhanced by my leadership and understanding of the work required by the various trades. During this project all deadlines were met or exceeded and Fastrac passed every inspection with only a minimal punch-out list from the substantial on the school. I also worked on the second elementary school at Melaleuca and Haverhill in Lake Worth. Both schools were Design/Build schools.
1998 PELLECCHIA ELECTRIC - BOYNTON BEACH, FL
POSITION: FIELD SUPERINTENDENT
Phone: (561) 588-8555
Responsible for all phases of an office/warehouse complex in Boca Raton. Initially I was hired as an electrician. Two weeks after I started the superintendent quit and I was promoted into the position. The project had fallen behind and definitely was in a state of disarray. I successfully completed the project and still managed to show a profit. Due to the large number of individual units on this project, I was afforded the opportunity to greatly improve my fire alarm skills and my skills working on elevators. This was the first commercial project awarded to Pellecchia Electric. They also had a few smaller commercial jobs during this time, but most were in the process of being completed. Mr. Pellecchia decided not to bid commercial work and he laid off his commercial staff.
1997 - 1998 RAMS, INC. - WEST PALM BEACH, FL
POSITION: ELECTRICIAN
Phone: (561) 963-0089
During my time at this temporary staffing company I completed two "Starbucks" coffee outlets, several commercial jobs and installed imported chandeliers in an 18,000 SF home in Boca Raton.

POSITION: ELECTRICIAN
Phone: (561) 833-3753 Al Godfrey
Projects worked on included North Palm Beach Elementary School, fresh water well fields, churches, condominiums, banks, residential homes, and homes on Palm Beach and at one time loaned to Stratton Electric to work on an industrial site for the new plant at TRIGAS. During this time I worked with Larry Mickley, a Master Electrician, which gave me the opportunity to perfect my underground and problem solving skills.
1990 - 1992 ORKIN PEST CONTROL - BLOOMINGTON, IN

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Mike Thompson and I am a superintendent for James B. Pirtle Construction Company, Inc. I was the superintendent for the “Coral Reef Elementary School†project on which Fastrac Electric was awarded the electrical contract. This project was the first school in the “Classroom’s First†project for the Palm Beach County School District. We were able to bring this school in on time and one million dollars under budget.
John Browning was the Field Superintendent on this project for Fastrac Electric. I found John to be very familiar with the policies and procedures required by the school district as well as having a very good working relationship with John Reid, the electrical inspector for the School Board.
Because this school was a “Design/Build†project we needed to make many changes as we proceeded and John was able to adapt and make adjustments as they were needed and coordinated some changes with the architect and engineer. He also had a good understanding of how the other subcontractors should be proceeding and worked with them to coordinate any changes or special requests that were made. Due to the fast pace required by the school district, it was imperative that we maintained a spirit of cooperation with all subcontractors working on this project.
John was a great help in completing this school and I would gladly recommend him for any company that is looking for someone to get the job done. Please feel free to contact me on my cell phone at (954) 931-3861.
Sincerely,
Mike Thompson - Superintendent

“COUNTY'S FIRST CLASSROOM FIRST SCHOOL PULLS DOWN HIGH GRADESâ€

If all of the school district's construction projects this year go as well as Coral Reef Elementary, there'll be no more talk of missed deadlines and expanding price tags. The district's first Classroom First project, the one that officials are pointing to as the first test of the 18-month-old school construction team, went well by any measure. Workers were still putting the finishing touches on the school last week - fixing broken tiles and trying to warm the igloo-like front office - but the school was basically finished a month ago. And the price tag? Construction cost just under $9 million, or about $1 million less than budgeted. Whether the team, which is run by consultant Phil Rohr and executive director Kathryn McKeen, can duplicate its success remains to be seen. So the question of whether the district can build schools in a timely and cost-effective manner has never been more important. Next week, school board Chairwoman Sandra Richmond will ask the board to consider asking voters for money. If the district wastes money on its current construction projects, it's not likely that voters would approve giving them more money. Plus, towns and cities across Palm Beach County are considering a policy to stop construction of new homes when schools become crowded. But the policy's author, consultant Leo Noble, has said that the policy will really function as a way to plan and build schools effectively, rather than stop construction. However, if school projects are often delayed, then home construction would be delayed. For that reason, city and town officials are wary of a policy that depends on the district's efficiency. On Friday, school officials toured Coral Reef and were impressed by its clear design lines. Just two people, carefully positioned at the intersection of two hallways, can see every classroom door in the school at once. This is the "poster project" for Classrooms First, Rohr said.
