OBJECTIVE: Seeking a position as a senior executive in the steel industry. A position that would allow me to put to use the skills I have acquired in the past 30 years as an independent steel detailer and product designer.
COMPUTER SKILLS: MicroSoft Office, AutoCAD, OrCAD STD, PCB386 and 19 years on SDS/2 from Design Data.
EXPERIENCE:
Aug 1998, to present: Independent steel detailer as Structural Drafting Services, Inc. , serving various size steel fabrication companies around the country and overseas. Worked on projects up to 4500 tons. Made sale calls for Design Data at their request. Provided independent in house training for several steel fabricators as they purchased SDS/2.
Jun 1997 to Aug 1998: Detailing staff Manager and Project Manager training and expanding the use of SDS/2 for Merrill Iron and Steel, Wausau, WI. Terminated with 120 other employees during financial distress for the Corp.
Oct 1995 to Jun 1997: In house detailer and consultant to Selvaggio Steel of Springfield IL. Departed for personal reasons.
Mar 1992 to Aug 1995: Consultant to BMJ Mold and Engineering and Federal Mogul Lighting, Electrical and Fuel Systems Division. Designing parts for the Automotive industry. This included developing the QS 9000 quality system and being the in house Assessor/Auditor the QS9000. Developed rapid prototyping for both companies in both plastics and PC board design.
Jan 1980 to Present: Independent steel detailer. Starting as OJT under the guidance of a retired Boeing engineer. Started the “Old fashioned way†pencil and paper and upgraded to advanced calculators and computers as quickly as possible. 2 years beta testor for AutoCAD. Began SDS/2 in 1990 version 2.17 and have maintained my own personal license since 1998.
Sep 1972 to Sept 1978: US Navy, Active and Reserve duty. Assigned Adak, AK as SAR sector command coordinating rescue efforts Pacific North and Bering Sea. Assigned USS Truxton, CGN-35 Navigation Division. One WestPac tour (9 months)

Sept 2005 Certified CERT, Wisconsin Community Emergency Response Team, 2nd responders.
May 2004 Graduate Evangelical Lutheran Church of America Lay Ministries Education. Continuing education in Lay Ministries.
Jan 1993 and continuing: Bachelors Studies in Mechanical engineering technology at Purdue University. Member, Curriculum Review Board for the MET program with 50 other engineers and educators.
