I would like to apply for your posted position of construction superintendent. I have been working as a traveling commercial construction superintendent. With my present employer, my responsibilities consist of: hiring many of the sub-contractors, scheduling the sequence of work to be done, ensuring a high degree of workmanship, scheduling the delivery of material, and various inspections. I secure the building permit and stay with the project to turnkey. It is my responsibility to be the liaison between: my company and the customer, landlord, local building department, and sub-contractors. I keep my projects within budget by getting competitive bids from my sub-contractors and suppliers. I finish my projects on time by being a hands-on superintendent. I am a Vietnam Veteran, in excellent health. In the Navy I was an Aviation Electrician, I was also trained to drive: tractor trailers, forklifts, and various ground support equipment. In 1984 I earned an Associate’s degree in drafting. I have been in construction work for over 25 years. I started as a laborer, moved up to superintendent.
