As a Project Manager for VPS I was responsible for the management of six to ten projects on a daily basis. VPS is a utility contractor that specializes in the inspections of existing and newly installed pipelines using CCTV. My duties included but were not limited to assigning all personnel and equipment for projects under my control. Estimating and job costing, as well as tracking profits and ensuring schedules were met to clients satisfaction were also within my scope of responsibility.

Infrashield, Inc. Charlotte, NC August 2002 – March 2005
As the Principal of InfraShield I was responsible for all aspects of operations. InfraShield performed utility construction in and around the Charlotte, NC metro area totaling $2M a year. Specializing in neighborhood revitalization projects which included water, sewer and gas pipeline replacement, InfraShield also performed several storm water rehabilitation projects in the DC area.
Infracorps, Inc. Richmond, VA January 1995 – August 2002
While employed as a Project Manager for Infracorps my responsibilities included management of all projects in the northern Virginia area. I was a key element in securing a $3M contract with Fairfax County, VA. Infracorps was a utility contractor specializing in trenchless technologies as applied to underground utilities. I implemented company wide changes for management procedures, and authored a care and maintenance manual for specialized equipment.
PROJECTS
• Infrastructure Rehabilitation, Multiple Clients. Rehabilitated over 700,000 linear feet of sanitary sewers for WSSC, rehabilitated over 150,000 linear feet of sanitary sewers for Fairfax County, rehabilitated over 350,000 linear feet of sanitary sewers for Charlotte, NC, rehabilitated over 10,000 manholes for various municipalities.
• Stormwater Management, Multiple Clients. Investigated and rehabilitated over 100 stormwater structures for Prince William County, City of Falls Church, RREEF, Boston Properties, Regency, and Lincoln Property Company. Work included evaluating and determining ownership of individual stormwater systems, implementing maintenance programs to provide cost savings to clients and eliminate risk of fines, providing engineering estimates for repairs, and overseeing those repairs.
• Site Remediation, Texaco, Fairfax, VA. Supervised installation of remediation system at major oil terminal to monitor and recover a 25-acre migrating plume of petroleum hydrocarbons in wetland area. System was largest inland recovery system on East Coast. Installed over 3,000 feet of interceptor trenches, 200 recovery wells, and a 600-foot horizontal infiltration well. Installed highly-advanced pump-and-control system to continuously remotely monitor. Initially recovered over 1,000 gallons of hazardous product and brought groundwater contaminants to acceptable levels.
• Mine Reclamation, Virginia Department of Mines, Spotsylvania, VA. Identified lead and developed winning bid for $600k contract to reclaim orphaned lead and zinc mine in central Virginia. Project involved excavating and capping a five-acre sediment basin, installing anoxic limestone drains to control acid runoff, rehabilitating wetlands, and capping abandoned mine shafts. Cleanup decreased soil acidity by 400 percent and resulted in revitalization of area plant and wildlife.
