To: Operations Manager / Preconstruction / Estimating Manager
Re: Estimator /Project Manger / Superintendent
Attached, please find a copy of my resume. I am very interested in pursuing a position with your company in any of the following; Preconstruction Estimating, Field Operations, Management, Estimator, Project Manager, Superintendent or hybrid of sorts. This hybrid position would depend upon the complexity and scope of work presented on a project by project basis. My experience from the start of my construction career ranged from ground up to finish trades (residential and light commercial), with the most recent five years primarily honing my skills in the commercial finish trades. In particular, Commercial frames, doors & hardware and finish carpentry scopes of work with Guy Evans and the Brady Company.
I feel I would be able to contribute immediately to any of your projects; whether you are contemplating self-performing select finish trades, and or seeking a well rounded Design-bid-build / Design-build Estimator/Project Manager/Superintendent to your team.
I am more than capable of putting on my “belt” again when the project or workload calls for this activity, however I believe my supervisory skills can offer the efficiencies sought for productivity accountability. My 1-week and 2-week look-ahead’s offer management the ability to forecast accurately and achieve or beat milestone dates critical to the hybrid position I seek. As noted above, I spent my first 7-years on building superstructures, from residential to light commercial and have a very strong background in framing structures; ground to roof.
As you can see from my attached resume, I am very eager and meticulous. I take pride in the fact that when my projects are completed to my own high standards they are in-fact ready for the scrutiny of my team leaders and ultimately, the end customer. I am confident that I can complete all of the tasks brought to my attention and more.
I look forward to an interview with your team and would be honored to become part of its future. I will contact you within the week to verify my status, one way or the other. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Respectfully submitted,
Jarad Leicht

Offers 14 years of Military, Heavy & Light Commercial, and Custom Residential / Multi-family Experience from site to finish experience:
• Skill Sets include but not limited to the following: analyze and provide Quantity Survey’s, Value Engineering (VE) and Constructability Reviews for bidding, managing field teams, and or estimating/bidding Design-Build and or Design Bid Build projects depending upon contractual formats. Provide daily instructions and supervision as it relates to project documents; schedule adherence, pre-planning and advance problem solving based upon contract documents. Additionally, my estimating and project management experience has allowed me to gain critical insight into the management of changes and the timeliness of tracking contractual obligations. While not completely fluent in Excel and or Word, they are skill-sets I continue to improve upon every week. Estimating and bidding finish hardware and finishes phases the last 4-years have allowed me to expand my skill-sets to now include a proficiency in estimating, proposal writing, and bidding both in Design Build and or Design-Bid Build.
• Site field experience in operating small to medium size backhoes and like equipment, site layout, Forman / Lead carpenter on a variety of site structures. Site utilities (wet and dry) experience is not extensive, but I understand the principals and feel confident that I could supervise this portion accordingly.
• Journeyman Carpenter … with over 9-years experience at this level, is presently my foremost strength as is leading crews of like trades from layout through the framing and exterior closure. My most recent experience with field experience has been with Guy Evans occasionally assisting crews when deadlines were paramount. While most of my experience had been completed in Western Montana (Big Sky Montana, Ennis and Bozeman) it has primarily been from SOG up, however in early years I have done concrete forming and placement, but in recent years this has been a trade typically subcontracted out by the firms I work with.
• Supervisor/Finish Carpenter … with over 7-years experience at this level and where I’m currently spending 50 percent (%) of my time, remaining time is dedicated to Project Management and Estimating.. My skills range from commercial hardware procurement and installation to building a good many custom log homes (all facets), exterior sidings and associated trims, custom finished heavy timber framing, installation of interior base, casing and coves trims, cabinetry, millwork installation and commercial and residential custom door and hardware installation. All the work associated with interior finishes that would typically be completed (in the work product noted above) by a Finish Carpenter I’ve physically completed to a very high quality level and or supervised crews to complete, also to the same standards. My previous positions with Guy Evans and Brady Company included a hybrid of Field Supervision, Project Management Estimating finish trades and commercial hardware. Projects ranged from Military BEQ’s to The Marriott and Church work. I have worked on a great many design-build projects that require the superintendent to have skill-sets that can often find the construction documents that require early constructability reviews, which is often very rewarding and challenging as well.
• Misc. Experience … while I would not consider myself a journeyman in the following trades, I am knowledgeable enough to guide crews through the expectations of the contract documents and the estimate expectations, due to my own experience having been tasked with these trades occasionally, I feel confident this would be a comfortable supervisory skill that would not be a challenge or intimidating. The trades include but not limited to the following areas; sheet-rock (not taping and finish), flooring (wood and synthetics), architectural wall finishes, counter-tops (tile, wood, plastic laminate), custom wood stair railings, composition roofing and many more scopes scattered throughout Division 2000 through 13000.
• Cabinetry and Custom Millwork … I pride myself on the ability to build custom cabinetry and specialty millwork items that might otherwise be unavailable through retail and or catalogs; from building complete casework to custom window sashes, etc. I have supervised working crews.
