•Responsible for the development of the kitchen and bathroom division by promotion of the In-Stone brand to the contract and retail sectors and the introduction and development of new key personnel.
•Developed and implemented successful marketing and promotional strategies both globally and locally to maximise brand exposure. This included exhibiting at Grand Design 2009, (recovering costs on day one of the exhibition) and securing a double page free feature editorial in the trade press.
•Successfully transformed the front office with the introduction of new manufacturing protocols, estimating & office data systems, programming system and S.O.P’s
•Project managing main contracts from enquiry stage through to completion including ongoing existing main contracts of values from £500k to £4m.
•Directly responsible for operations & logistics, the procurement of materials from UK and overseas suppliers and sourcing of ancillary product.

•Managed a close-knit team whilst providing management and support to installation teams, surveyors and production personnel, (approx 42 people).
•Responsible for the recruitment, training and development of all office personnel. I supervised the operations and logistics department and trained personnel in the scheduling and estimating systems that I had developed and implemented.
•Personally responsible for managing and facilitating all key accounts, including, The Symphony group, Charles Church, Persimmon Homes, The Ardmore Group and others.
•Performed presentations to clients on all aspects of stone, arranged factory tours, training and visits to suppliers and quarries both in the UK and overseas.
•Responsible for all customer care issues, often representing QM in site meetings at director level.
•Reduced overheads by continually reviewing internal SOP’s to speed up processes and identify system faults that resulted in a cost implication.
Kinderplay Ltd t/a Poundstore January 1997 to June 1999
Director
The Phillips group already operated 40 stores in the UK; I was tasked to open a new store, the first in Kent.
•Totally responsible for new store fit out, product selection, merchandising, staffing and general preparation for start up of trading.
•Successfully opened the store on time, generating first week sales at 35% above expectations. Within 6 months opened second store in the same high street increasing total weekly sales by 150% for the two stores combined.
•Appointed as buyer for 9 stores and responsible for renegotiating terms and prices with suppliers.
•Seconded in December 1997 by the parent company to re brand the 7 stores in London. I trained store personnel in merchandising and display skills along with customer service and warehouse management.
•Planned and implemented supply chain management and achieved a global increase in turnover by a minimum of 50% in the first 6 months to June 1998.
•July to December 1998 successfully reorganised the London & Midlands distribution centres, improving supply chain as well as identifying and sourcing new product

Owned and operated a retail discount store retailing Housewares, giftware and chemist sundries etc.
•Within 4 weeks of take over increased weekly sales from £6.5k to £12.5k.

•As buyer I identified and sourced new product and developed relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms.
•In 1990 introduced a new range of pre school toys from Little Tikes.
