Estimating (take-offs & bid prep) and Project Management (submittals, schedule of values prep, project meetings, material buy out) of mid to large projects. Full responsibility for Yearly budget, Location P & L, Monthly Man-Hours schedule, contract & vendor negotiations and monthly billings. Extremely fluent with GDS WinBid Pro 15 estimating software. Job was secured after multiple interviews and location visit, one of one dozen qualified candidates.

Owned and managed a small contract-glazing firm in Central Florida. Sold business in July of 2006 to Fox Windows & Glass. Managed or performed all aspects of day to day business including: All take-offs, estimating (manual & PC both GDS & VistaVision) , sales, contract negotiations, vendor relations, purchasing, Florida Building Code compliance, safety & Haz-Com program, Quickbooks accounting, personnel hiring/termination and all project management. Sales approx. $2.5+ million/year. Utilized Vistawall, YKK, AFG/AGC and US Aluminum storefront products. Fulfilled sales agreement of staying and continuing to manage business for two years plus after sale of business.

Executed all responsibilities of successfully running and operating a profitable full service glass shop. Duties included all scheduling, purchasing, customer and employee relations, commercial sales, take-offs, project management, vendor relations, technical advice, code compliance, maintenance of computer database of accounts. Shop sales approx. $1.6 million/year. Utilized Kawneer, U.S. Aluminum and Arch Aluminum products. Company was sold and relocated.

Southeast, Mid-Atlantic & Mississippi Valley August 1994 – November 1995
Directed a “Start from Scratch” sales effort for this nineteen (19) state territory. Working from my home office, I promoted a 24-Hour glazing and door repair program to national and regional retail accounts. Interacting on a daily basis with corporate decision makers and architectural/engineering departments. I scheduled my own appointments, motel, flights etc. uploading sales reports and data nightly to the corporate server via laptop. Company closed this division during corporate downsizing and merger.

Orlando, FL – Contract Manager January 1993 – June 1994
Responsible for all commercial estimating, project management, take-offs, bidding, job-costing, blueprint review, project & vendor negotiations on large curtainwall, storefront and monumental window projects. Hands on interaction with architects, engineers and general contractors from projects inception through completion. Projects sizes ranged from $100K through $2.5 million. Resigned to accept higher profile, national sales position. Utilized Vistawall, Kawneer and YKK products.

Directed a “from ground up” sales effort of aluminum storefront, curtainwall and entrances, providing sales support to architects and glazing contractors in a previously “abandoned” territory. Previous year’s sales were approx. $20k, upon my departure sales were approx. $500k . Resigned position due to company being sold to private investment group, they would not get products tested for Florida market and closed the Charlotte, NC service center reducing proficient market servicing capabilities. Eventually pulling out of the Florida market entirely.

Worked on both production and non-production shifts for the largest non-union coal company in the USA. Areas of expertise were roof bolting and shuttlecar operation. Certified Training: First Rescuer/Responder.
