A new industry would also help to broaden my skills and make me a more versatile planner. PROFILE
An experienced scheduler/planner with extensive experience in the UK Rail industry with the largest companies Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Network Rail. An effective communicator at all levels of the company with good client facing skills gained from consultancy work and dealing with subcontractors. An organized individual with good problem solving skills and takes a pro active approach to work being able to work alone or as part of a team. A quick learner who is able to adapt to new working environments quickly.
Last role was on Phase 1 of the East London Line (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_London_line_extension) offering project management support to the Power Department as the lead planner for Electrification and Power Delivery on and off the track. The role oversees the construction of 2 Bulk Supply Points, 3 Traction Substations and 3 smaller station Transformer Rooms. Also included in the role is the installation and commissioning of the SCADA systems at 6 sites which when interconnected allow for remote monitoring and control of power project wide.

East London Line Refurbishment - Balfour Beatty Carillion Joint Venture (value £363m)
Key Responsibilities:
 Creation of a schedule for Lineside Civil works to cover the works being done for Power, Signaling and Telecoms based on available designs. Working with the design team by creating a schedule to show which structure designs are required and outstanding as well as which ones are complete based the construction Schedule. Weekly and period reporting both written and graphic with KPIs to show planned versus actual progress, highlighting problems areas and potential areas to improve the rate of work.
 The role of Electrification and Power delivery planner involved maintenance of the schedules for the construction of 2 independent Bulk Supply Points, 3 Traction Substations, 3 Station Transformer Rooms for station power provision and a Track Paralleling Hut. Included in this work was the construction of the buildings and the installation and commissioning of all the switchgear within the buildings and also trackside. The job also involved talking to all the team project managers to keep them updated with when they would get permanent power. Checking, integrating and monitoring the subcontractor’s schedule for the SCADA system. The schedule also monitored installation of 166,484 linear meters of HV, LV and DC cabling which carried the power through the project.
 Creation of the Critical Paths and analysis for the project. This was used by all project managers and directors so delays could be mitigated where possible before passing the critical paths on to the Board of Directors so they were aware of the problem areas in the project.
Selected Achievements:
 Creation of a one off Schedule for the Testing & Commissioning of all project works. The works covered all M&E for the construction and refurbishment of all stations new and existing, Signaling, Telecoms, Electrification and Permanent Way.
 Created and integrated the schedules for Electrification and SCADA and an improved risk register to allow them to be seen in one place and show the dependencies between the works
 Improved reporting tools to make sure all works were tracked properly from design through to final handover of installed equipment with KPIs and better information for Board Meetings
 Created Schematics for the entire job to track Electrification works to better show to the Board construction progress
 Trained up other planners on Critical Path Analysis which was done for both Interim and Period End reporting
The job involved using the Track Renewal Schedule for the London Underground to make changes to the Track Enabling Works schedule. Failure to deliver on time cost millions of pounds making our working environment fast paced and high pressured.
Key Responsibilities:
 Making sure the schedule was properly resourced for the financial year and highlight potential areas of increased need
 Progress reporting each period, earned value analysis and monitoring
 Bi weekly meeting with project managers and track designers to discuss changes to the track renewal Schedule and any other issues that could affect Track Enabling Works
 Create revised plans to cover changes in the Track Renewal Schedule and report on the impact on current works
 Keeping engineers informed of changes to the schedule
 Use change control procedures to keep track of changes to the schedule and maintaining a change log

 Automated & improved Summary Schedule used by Engineers to make it easier to track changes to the Track Renewal Schedule
 Improved schedule layout and set up to make updating the schedule easier and also tracking progress
 Worked on cleansing asset and structure databases from the two main structures schedules thus greatly reducing duplicated work between teams
 Improved schedule progress reporting by making changes to the team progress trackers

 Planning maintenance work for routine as well as cyclic maintenance
 Migration from multiple legacy systems to one standard maintenance capturing system and planning system
