To work for a motivating company that can use my strong manufacturing skills and enable me to make a significant contribution to the company’s competitiveness; a company where I will want to remain, enthusiastically, until I retire. I am a highly motivated and experienced worker with a passion to excel in all that I do.
SKILLS / CERTIFICATES:
Operations Manager, Quality Control, Skilled Trades, Welding, Machining, Assembly, Fabricator, Maintenance, Technician, Blue Print (GDT), Engineering, Measurement, Journeymen Welder, Machine Builder, and Computers / Management Classes, Lean Manufacturing, Welding I & II, Blue Print Reading I & II, Basic Electronics, Math, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Machine Shop I & II, Metallurgy, Fork Lift, Welding Certs (6G) Position.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1.) ENERGY STEEL AND SUPPLY CO.
*Quality Control Inspector: Receipt Inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections of all in house and vendor parts. The knowledge and usage of calipers, micrometers, cmm, gage blocks, indicators, height gages, bore gages, optical comparator, profilometers, and many other precision instruments for measuring. Documenting information into the computer on reports. Also the learning of ASME Codes, ANSI, Section III, Section VIII, NCR, 10 CFR part 20, 10 CFR part 50, and the use of Standard Operation Procedures, in which I came up with the SOP for the Tube Bundles.
*Welding: Tig, sub arc, spray arc, shielded and flux cored welding. Acquiring 6G certifications for stainless steel and carbon on pipe welding (0†to 6†pipe). GTAW experience includes welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum welding. Welding small fabricated parts to structural steels such as machined parts to frames, heat exchangers, tube bundles, channel heads and coolers, in which I perfected the art of rolling and doing hydro’s on the tube bundles.
*Management: Over the warehouse of 6 employees, 2 welders, 1 machinist, and 3 in shipping and receiving. Their jobs included welding, fitting, machining, assembling, maintenance, shipping, and receiving. My duties included ordering all the supplies needed from consumables to machines, maintaining all the equipment used, staying within a budget, hiring, firing, evaluations, safety records and scheduling workloads, in which I used the principles of lean manufacturing to improve time as well as quality without cutting corners.
2.) GASC TECHNOLOGY CENTER
* Welding Vocational Technician: Assisted the Instructors in teaching the students welding. Teaching students the principles and the art of SMAW, GTAW, Stick, spool gun, torches, shears, break press, iron worker, brazing, drill press, plasma, english wheel, power hammer, press and all sorts of hand and air tools.
*Machining Vocational Technician: Assisting the Instructor in teaching the students in machining to use the Bridgeport, lathes, surface grinders, micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, end mills, fly cutters, and other tooling. Other responsibilities include grading tests and classroom behavior, and keeping track of attendance and other records.
3.) CONSTRUCTION MACHINE INC.
*Fitter: Assembling a product called a Bag House (40’X12’X24’, using 16 ga. sheet metal). Responsible for the oversight, fit-up, and grinding of the project. Used tools such as 20 ton cranes, grinders, welders, turn buckles, jacks, sanders, levels, and measuring tape, in which we constantly reduced the time on the projects without cutting quality.
*Welder: Welding the entire project by SMAW and flux-cord, uphill and overhead, in which we constantly improved the technique, products construction and its appearance.
4.) BOARDMAN’S INC
*Fitter-Welder: Attaching vessels up to 14’ dia. and approximately 20’ long made out of rolled carbon or stainless steels. Welds were stick welded using 7014 or 3018; with a 100% penetration with UT. Including grinding, beveling, laying out dimensions, fitting up of the platforms and brackets inside and out, in which we developed a faster ways of the fitting-up process.
5.) PROVEN DESIGNS INC.
*Machining: Use of surface grinders, manual mills, and lathes with a knowledge of set-up for tooling, and drawings.
*Assembly: Aligning all the frames and components with a lazar for precision performance of the pouch machine.
*Welding: Welding fabricated parts, structural steel, plate, and stock using stainless steel, carbon steels, and aluminum. Using the GTAW, SMAW, and Stick processes. With much expertise on the GTAW process for stainless steels, carbon, and aluminum from small fabricated parts to large structural steels for a period of 11 years. Involved in the manufacturing process of a job, beginning from the blueprint stage until the part was shipped, which included fit-up, welding, fabricating, assembly, machining, shipping, packaging, receiving, and quality control. Completing an Apprenticeship Program which included 9 different classes to achieve my Machine Building Certificate and acquiring a Journeymen status in welding.
*Welding Foreman: Assigned work and gave instruction for different tasks of a 3 man crew in the welding department, in which we came up with a whole new meaning to the cosmetics on our pouch machines as well as developing way to straighten the frames for better alignment.
