Lead Scheduler: Capital Expansion and Turnaround Team
Responsible for the integration of Engineering, Procurement, Implementation and Start Up schedule for a major capital expansion project. Develop, maintain and update project schedule. Developed the WBS for the schedule. Provided critical path and manpower analysis to the plant senior management and their general contractors using MS Excel & PowerPoint. Responsible for reviewing the input of schedule activities by the planners to assure the health of the schedule. Assisted the general contractors in assigning work to their respective crews by foremen to assure a logic and resource feasible schedule. Train junior members of project team on use of P5 & P6.

Lead Scheduler: Flue Gas Desulfurization [FGD] Rebuild Project Team
Develop, maintain and updated Flue Gas Degasification project schedule. Provided daily critical path and manpower analysis to construction management personnel and Westar Energy project management team using P3e and MS PowerPoint formats. Train junior members of project team P3 & P3e.

Responsible for the development of the engineering, procurement/fabrication, construction and startup schedules including the WBS. Develop detail estimates for field installation activities. Reviewed and incorporated subcontractor schedules into the S&W integrated project schedule. Updated and maintained integrated project schedules. Provided Management Summary, Critical Path & Milestone reports to S&W and the client management using P3e and MS PowerPoint; provided critical path, manpower loading, 3-week look ahead and update reports to project personnel.
05/00 to 04/01: Omaha Public Power District, Omaha, NE
Senior Resource Scheduler: Electric Operations Division’s, Transmission & Distribution Services.
Served on the T&D Scheduling Process Management Team (PMT) as the outside technical expert on Project Management and Scheduling philosophy and techniques. The PMT reviewed the current T&D Work Management processes and made improvement recommendations to Senior Management. Assisted T&D management in the implementation of the recommendations. Improvement items included the following: staff training; revision of T&D scheduling procedures; development of and training on user reports; Process & Performance Measurements; use of the Work Management System (Indus PassPort & Primavera P3 software); estimating field construction activities and manpower requirements; improve the integration of Customer Service, Design Engineering and T&D Construction Work Management database systems & processes.

Responsible for development of the integrated drug production facility schedules using Primavera Project Planner (P3) software. The scope included the Design Engineering, Construction, System Testing and Turnover by the contractor to GlaxoWellcome; Startup and FDA Production Certification by GlaxoWellcome.

Responsible for development of the integrated Jet Pump Replacement, Component Cutting & Component Slicing schedules and development of Cutting’s Tool Development schedule using Primavera Project Planner (P3) software. Development of the WBS and coding structure. Provide training of GE staff personnel on use of Primavera’s Project Planning software for project scheduling.

Project Scheduler: Byron Nuclear Station/Steam Generator Replacement Project
Responsible for integrating the Steam Generator Replacement Project (SGRP) schedule (Primavera) into the station’s Refueling Outage schedule (Project/2). Development of the SGRP’s startup and testing schedule. Development of custom reports and graphics.
11/96 to 03/97: Nebraska Public Power District, Brownville, NE
Long Range Planner: Cooper Nuclear Station
Developed a site procedure for implementation of a Long Range Planning and Change Control (LRP/CC) process, including forms and flow charts, and a charter for the site LRP/CC Committee responsible for implementing the LRP/CC process. Assisted in the development of a LRP/CC database based on MS Access, including database/table structures, input screen forms, standard output reports, and user query/report options. Provided training to new staff personnel on: their duties and responsibilities required to implement, update and maintain the LRP/CC database; their interface with, and the analysis provided to, the LRP/CC Committee; and their interface with the corporate Financial Management system. Provided training to staff personnel on detail project/program schedule development using generic templates, WBS and on project control techniques for providing reports and analysis to staff and management.
02/93 to 10/96: Washington Public Power Supply System, Richland, WA
Senior Project Planner/Scheduler: Washington Nuclear Plant No. 2
Assisted in the establishing of an Integrated Project Controls group to manage the design and implementation of major plant modifications. Responsibilities included participation in project team development meeting, project estimate development, schedule development based on project estimate and project team input, biweekly progress updating and analysis of project status via tabular and graphical reports. Review and approval of project Change Order Estimates/Schedules and incorporation into the project schedules. Developed various detailed and summary level tabular and graphical reports to be used in the initial schedule development phase and during implementation to provide critical path analysis and performance monitoring to project management. Assisted in the development of generic project schedule templates, WBS and coding structures. Provided training to junior staff members. Assisted in the development of an electronic transfer of estimate data in to the schedule; providing electronic cost flows to LRP and Financial databases. Functioned as the evening shift supervisor in the Scheduling Support Services group. Responsibilities included incorporation of schedule modifications and updates into networks, generation of tabular and graphical reports, and the production and distribution of a daily site wide schedule review package. Training was provided to staff members on scheduling techniques, use of IBM’s TSO facilities, and the use of Project/2’s custom report writer and graphic packages. Responsible for incorporation of Design Change Package schedules, resources and man-hours into the Long Range Plan, along with major Capital Budget items and Life Cycle Management items.

Senior Outage Scheduler: Fort Calhoun Nuclear, North Omaha & Nebraska City Coal Stations.
Responsible for development and incorporation of outage modification schedules into the overall outage schedule, along with routine maintenance. Developed activity and project coding structures, logic templates, and OBS, RBS and WBS definitions for the Nuclear Projects Division. This also included the development of tracking and trending reports and graphs, using PSDI’s Project/2 and Primavera’s P3 & P3e scheduling software packages, to monitor the modification packages from the design phase to their installation. Analysis was provided to management on the schedule impacts caused by the modification-related activities. Training was provided to the junior staff members.
07/84 to 12/87: Arkansas Power & Light Co., Little Rock, AR
Senior Planning & Scheduling Coordinator: Energy Supply Division.
Responsible for providing expertise in the management process of planning, scheduling and cost control of capital and O&M projects plant outages and major programs. These responsibilities included the development and maintenance of long range schedules for resource and financial planning purposes and detailed schedules to monitor and control the design, modification and construction of nuclear and fossil power generation plants. This position required assessing the project control needs, developing plans, continuously evaluating and analyzing project performance and recommending corrective action to management to ensure the successful completion of projects and plant outages ranging in value from $150,000 to $1,000,000,000. As Senior Coordinator, responsibilities included management and maintenance of project controls computerized scheduling program database consisting of 15,000 to 20,000 critical path method cost and schedule elements.
12/79 to 06/84: Arkansas Power and Light Co., Newark, AR
Senior Planning & Scheduling Coordinator: Independence Steam Electric Station Project.
Responsibilities included the development, maintenance and monitoring of the project procurement, construction and startup schedules and the WBS/Code Fields for output reporting. This included providing management with monthly analyses at project review meetings of potential impacts to project schedules as a result of material delays, acceleration of project milestones and contractor schedule revisions. Assistance was also provided to the project by analyzing construction claims from contractors and preparing back charges against vendors with respect to schedule impacts. Responsible for supervising and providing on the job training for the project planning and scheduling department staff. Duties also included the development of procedures for system backup and recovery of the database.
