Responsible for completion and maintenance of all PSEG site-specific permits such as Hot Work, Proximity, and Confined Space etc. Investigate all incidents on site and prepare timely reports for PSEG senior management. Perform root cause analysis reports for project safety management chain of command. Conduct toolbox talks and work on the site safety committee to improve communications and trade relations. Instrumental in reducing incident rates for the contractor client through effective communication and enhancements in safety programs as part of the client contractor’s operation. Monitor environmental remediation operations throughout the PSEG site and prepare daily reports for PSEG management. Member of both the PSEG site safety committee and the crafts safety committees, working alongside project management and craft management personnel to reduce site accidents.
F&G Mechanical/Emcor 2006-2008
As the safety department manager, I was in charge of safety management operations as governed by EMCOR’s published safety program, working closely with EMCOR’s regional safety director. Improved F&G’s safety performance from 13 chargeable OSHA violations prior to my employment to zero violations during my tenure as safety director. Chairperson of the safety committee that developed evolving proactive safety protocol to address changes in the work place. Under my authority, I was instrumental in reducing incident rates, Lost Time incident rates and workers’ comp rates. I negotiated Lower medical care rates while maintaining world-class quality of care. Managed approximately 600 men spread out over 4 separate divisions (Plumbing, HVAC/Mechanical, Fire Sprinkler) including the 40 unit service fleet. Conducted an average of 55 field safety audits per month across all the F&G operating divisions. Tracked hard and soft dollar claims costs for senior management as a method by which real project costs could be accounted for. Handle and manage all incident investigations including but not limited to Fleet operations. Prepare monthly safety management report for senior F&G and Emcor management. Conduct OSHA intervention management when a company project site was visited by OSHA. Manage on-going site training programs for all field personnel.
