Job Description:
Each Solar Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the sales process and marshaling the Tecta resources to close profitable sales. Key activities are generating qualified leads, developing deep understanding of customer needs and how to best address them, and creating lasting relationships with perspective clients. The role also requires outbound cold calling, identifying and qualifying opportunities, actively networking, referral research, and managing the daily department activities necessary for growing the department. This position will report to the Managing Directors.

Specific Responsibilities:
The following are the responsibilities of the position:
Outbound cold-call to a defined set of target prospect accounts;
Contact prospects and partners through, but not limited to, phone calls, email, mailings, networking events, market research, and seminars to communicate opportunities to extend initiatives with the company;
Field inbound calls and leads from various sources and qualify for business potential;
Collaborate with marketing, sales management, product management to facilitate new programs, messages, campaigns, and offerings;
Ensure interactions with development, finance, design, engineering and project management are seamless and exceed customer's satisfaction;
Ensure reporting and communications is frequent and bi-directional.
Monitor customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis post-installation.
Arrange and coordinate multiple live and potential projects for single customers, including comprehensive project/pitch reporting.
Manage big client RFI/RFP preparation, leadership and follow through, either with corporate or public sector capital goods projects.
Mentoring sales associates and supporting the managing directors in their selling initiatives.
Requirements

Qualifications:
Four year degree in a technical or business discipline; or exceptional 2 year degree and a NABCEP Certification.
Previous experience selling and growing business for solar, or other alternative energy net-metered projects
Proven success in building and maintaining successful relationships at all organizational levels with prospective and existing customers;
2-5 years of demonstrated inside sales, outside sales or business development success;
Proficient at using spread sheets for total cost of ownership, payback and NPV analysis and presentation;
Excellent communication skills are required, both written and oral;
Self-motivated, energetic personality with exceptional telephone and selling skills;
Understanding of renewable energy industry, grid-tied solar electric sales/design/installation a and incentives;
Ability to keep track of quickly-changing market trends and conditions within solar budgeting and needs.
