Electrical Technologist II - Nuclear Employer: Bechtel Corp. Job Location: Knoxville , TN Cash Compensation: Job Description: Supports the efforts of engineers, designers, drafters, technicians, and technologists in technical work within an assigned discipline. Performs moderately complex assignments that require initiative and independent judgment in the selection and use of established principles and procedures. Must have mathematical, computer, code or design expertise, or a combination of the same. This position is for an electrical discipline technologist, performing design duties on nuclear power generating facilities. Work location is in the Knoxville and Spring City area. This individual will work under the supervision of more senior engineers and designers to produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation for plant systems modifications within nuclear facilities. This individual will assist engineers in developing working drawings, and in determining drafting expression and arrangement of components. Perform computer related activities such as preparing and maintaining databases. Will have demonstrated skills in written and oral communications. Basic Requirements: 2 year degree in a related science or certification in Electrical and I&C design or extensive experience in design and drafting. Basic math and computer program skills such as standard computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous work experience in 2D AutoCAD drafting and design for power plant applications. 2-4 years of practical design experience within the power industry. (Grade 23/2 yr. minimum; Grade 24/4 yr. minimum) Ability to coordinate multiple activities and manage competing priorities. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Aplicant must either have been previously badged in a nuclear facility or be capable of passing necessary background and security checks to obtain a badge. Preferred Requirements: 2 year EET degree. Experience with Autodesk Raster Design. Experience with Microsoft Access is desirable. Minimum 3 years experience working on a Nuclear Power Plant electrical and I&C drawings.
