Role Summary/Purpose The Lead Engineer will contribute to the team responsible for area of Thermal-Hydraulic stability analyses. In this role, you will perform applicable analyses within a team environment to support a variety of applications including BWR reload analysis, flow region expansion, power uprate and New Power Plants.
# Essential Responsibilities Work within a team environment to perform T-H stability and related evaluations to support a variety of Fuel, Services and NPP products
# Advance the state-of-the-art technology, understanding and application processes in T-H stability analysis and consult with cross-functional teams to develop NPI within this expertise
# Develop procedures, perform and verify analyses and help train less experienced engineers
# Initial assignments will utilize the TRACG Nuclear/T-H systems code to perform plant specific and/or licensing evaluations
# Perform work in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures
# Interface with internal and external customers on technical issues
# Support Company initiatives including Six Sigma process improvement and New Product Introduction
# Qualifications/Requirements B.S. or advanced degree in Nuclear, Mechanical Engineering or other discipline with at least 2 years of experience in BWR design and analysis
# At least one year experience in BWR stability analysis
# At least one year experience with Nuclear / T-H systems code such as TRACG, TRACE or RELAP5

# Desired Characteristics Background in liquid-vapor two-phase flow
# Broad experience with reactor T-H systems analysis codes
# Extensive experience with BWRs, including ABWR and ESBWR
# Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
# Knowledge of core design or experience with 3D core simulation tools
# Experience with modeling control systems
# Background in power plant or process plant T-H
# Solve problems using intuitive, analytical and investigative skills
# Strong Mathematical Background
# Demonstrated high energy and the ability to energize others
# Team player with strong leadership capabilities
# Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude
# Legacy of delivering on commitments; tenacious, with a proven track record of overcoming obstacles; ability to achieve stretch targets
# Strong external focus; clear and demonstrated understanding of nuclear industry and/or energy industry
# Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
# Clearly and confidently communicates based on deep understanding
# M.S. degree or Ph.D. in Engineering discipline
# Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (GE employees only) |
