| Job Description: |
Provide governance and oversight of the Radiation Protection functions across the nuclear fleet. Reports to the Fleet Plant General Manager, Site Vice Presidents, and Chief Nuclear Officer on the effectiveness of the radiation protection processes at the stations and identifies needed improvements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (*essential job functions)
1. Define and implement corporate policy and directives.
2. Define and publish key standard performance indicators (KPI¿s).
3. Drive to standardize radiation protection programs to industry ¿best practices¿.
4. High level oversight of the radiation protection processes and the supporting programs.
5. Corporate Sponsor for fleet radiation protection improvement initiatives to assure transfer of site and industry learning¿s.
6. Support resolution of complex technical issues beyond the capabilities of the site through the use of CGG experts.
7. Support complex & strategic process/program issues.
8. Strategy & support for special programmatic regulator/industry inspections.
9. Lead for influencing radiation protection decision-making at industry level. Participates in industry committees. Attends conferences and interfaces with other utilities as a fleet representative for the function
Job Specifications: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, ANSI qualifications, tests, and other bona fide occupational qualifications)
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Health Physics, Chemical Engineering, or other related technical discipline. A Certification in Health Physics may substitute for the degree requirement.
2. At least ten years experience in positions related to nuclear industry radiation protection and chemistry, of which at least five years shall be at the supervisory level. At least two years experience at the General Supervisor/Director level is preferred.
3. PWR and BWR, multi-site experience preferred.
4. SRO/RO or Plant Certification desirable.

Other (including physical requirements, working conditions, etc.):
1. Ability to meet and maintain unescorted access requirements of a nuclear power plant.
2. Ability to work additional hours to support ongoing plant operations and refueling outages. Must be availability for on-call status.
3. Ability to observe and oversee work in a nuclear power plant environment including confined spaces and areas accessible by ladders.
4. Ability to withstand exposure to high noise and extreme temperatures.
5. Ability to read, write, and analyze reports and written materials.
6. Ability to see, hear and speak to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
7. Ability to serve on emergency response team, when called.
8. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to the performance of the position. |
