Nuclear Engineer Employer: Bechtel Corp. Job Location: Frederick , MD Cash Compensation: Job Description: Performs assignments that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Exercises limited but increasing judgment in performing assigned tasks. Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. This is an entry level, University hire position on a nuclear power project. Design power plant systems and equipment for new or existing plants. Prepare P&IDs, calculations, equipment specifications, material requisitions, subcontract packages, system descriptions, design criteria documents, design change packages, and technical bid evaluations. Coordinate work activities with other project groups. Review supplier documents and coordinate with suppliers. Ensure designs are consistent with project technical requirements, codes, standards, and estimate. Travel may be required (domestic or international, business trip or short/long term assignment). Start date is flexible. Basic Qualifications BS in Engineering (Nuclear). Must have graduated within the last year. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Currently possess the right to legally work and remain in the United States without visa sponsorship. Capable of passing nuclear security screening requirements and able to obtain un escorted clearance to a nuclear power plant (nuclear projects only). Preferred Qualifications From 0 to 2 years engineering experience in duties/responsibilities described above. EIT or FE certificate. Co op or summer intern experience in the power industry.
