Control Systems Engineer - Nuclear Power Employer: Bechtel Corp. Job Location: Frederick , MD Cash Compensation: Job Description: Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit. Understands the basic discipline work processes. Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having a minor degree of complexity. Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from suppliers. Familiar with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). This position is for Control Systems engineering design on a nuclear power plant with work assignment in Frederick, MD. The Nuclear Control Systems Engineer's responsibilities range from generation of design packages, originating plant documentation, setpoint calculations, instrumentation specification, logic design, P&ID design, digital control systems design, tubing and instrument installation design requirements, radiation detection, security systems, control room layout/human factors, safety system design, etc. Basic Requirements: Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. Candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain unescorted clearance to a nuclear power plant. Candidate must have 2 years Control Systems Engineering experience in the power industry. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred Requirements: A BS degree in Engineering: Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field. EIT Certification. 1 year nuclear power experience. US Navy Nuclear experience.
