High Head Hydro-Power Engineer Employer: Parsons Corporation Job Location: Sacramento , CA Cash Compensation: Job Description: The High head hydroelectric Power Engineer will be responsible for management of the technical aspects of a large hydroelectric modernization capital program for a large utility customer. Required KNOWLEDGE, qualifications, skills, and experiences Excellent communication skills (Verbal, oral and written) Thorough and working knowledge of: · All system components related to high head hydroelectric power generation including spillways, penstocks, dams, turbine and generators for systems in excess of 500 feet of head. · How to coordinate and facilitate system design particularly during the conceptual schematic and preliminary phases of engineering. · How to evaluate competing technologies for best efficiency and lowest total cost of ownership. · Complete working knowledge of the permitting requirements for large hydroelectric projects. · Experience in the design of high head hydroelectric systems in high seismic regions. · Ability to manage the design of large project teams and to provide technical oversight on a consultant basis. Requirements: BS or MS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Power) The proven ability to build team consensus, successfully lead within a matrix organization, motivate others and to consistently meet objectives. 15+ years of experience in the hydroelectric power generation field, at least 7 of which should include managing or supervising others. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs. Experience in the use of scheduling software is a plus.
