We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer in our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit. Our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit, based out of our corporate headquarters in Monroeville, PA, specializes in product development, systems engineering, component design, equipment manufacturing, and project management for new nuclear power plants worldwide. It is within this Business Unit that developed the AP1000 design, the safest and most economical nuclear power plant available in the worldwide commercial market place.
In this position, a Senior Engineer can expect to perform the following duties:
- Integrate engineering information to support AP1000 licensing issue resolution including design certification amendment, combined license application and review, and design acceptance criteria activities.
- Interface with NuStart and AP1000 potential customers to resolve licensing issues and to develop risk management strategies for the AP1000 combined license (COL) activities and for successful plant construction and operation.
- Interface with US NRC to resolve licensing issues.
- Support DOE COL and Design Finalization Contract efforts.
- Support efforts to establish ITAAC resolution strategies.
- Interact with industry teams to support resolution of standard regulatory and licensing issues (NEI, EPRI, INPO, NuStart, and AP1000 Design Centered Working Group).
- Support revision of existing AP1000 design certification rule making through revision of the Design Control Document, as well as resolution of industry and NRC comments and questions.
Specific Desired Skills A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:
- Critical thinking and analytical problem solving skills.
- Written and spoken communication skills.
- Project management experience.
- Regulatory experience and nuclear safety background are preferred. |
