Senior Civil Engineer- Nuclear Employer: Bechtel Corp. Job Location: Frederick , MD Cash Compensation: Job Description: Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in a global business unit. Applies broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering in the preparation of engineering analyses. Makes decisions concerning problems within the discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and with the client as directed to resolve technical questions. Work may be for either new nuclear plants or upgrades of existing plants. Routine travel to Customer's facilities to support project goals should be expected for home office assignments. Thorough knowledge of engineering techniques, design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations. A broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials. Up-to-date knowledge of computer applications to engineering and design. Working knowledge of engineering planning and control methods. A broad knowledge of precedents in Civil/Structural Engineering and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related technical areas. A knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved. A good knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the Civil/Structural discipline. Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication. Experience and demonstrated skill at performing work at the Grade 26 level. BSCE from an accredited college or university, a Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering, with developmental or practical work experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. Basic Qualifications: A BS degree in Civil Engineering from accredited college or university. A US Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering. Candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain un-escorted clearance to a nuclear power plant. Must have the right to work and remain in the USA without visa sponsorhsip. At least 12 years of Civil/Structural experience. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication in English. Experience in design for Nuclear Power Plants.
