Job Description:	About the Opportunity Responsible for being the system expert in support of operating requirements. Verifies station activities are properly addressed and performed. Performs field walk-downs, conducts inspections of plant equipment, and interfaces with other groups to resolve emergent and routine plant issues. Trends system parameters and monitors performance of assigned systems. Recommends predictive and preventative maintenance (task and frequency) for assigned systems. Reviews schedules and work orders and develops outage and routine maintenance activity lists. Prepares technical reports and presentations. Develops and completes investigations and corrective actions in accordance with the Corrective Action Program. Works with engineering representatives from various manufacturers, vendors, and industry groups to investigate and resolve system operating problems. Performs audits, observations, surveys, and assessments of plant activities such as maintenance and operations. Ensures opportunities to address human performance errors are addressed. Provides support for interface with regulatory and oversight agencies. Reviews and analyzes plant operating characteristics, and NRC and industry correspondence to identify operating experience that may be appropriate to identify or resolve plant issues. Champions design change improvements and interface. Performs assigned emergency response organization activities. Candidate must be willing and able to work extra hours as required. Travel to support industry training, process improvement, and resource sharing should be expected. Qualifications - BS Degree in Engineering (choose: Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) is required with up to 0-5 years of equivalent work experience. Advanced degree a plus. - Prior co-op or internship experience a plus. - In-depth understanding of pertinent technical products and/or services and of customer needs and expectations - Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships - Possess a sound knowledge of various researching techniques - Desire to continue to learn and grow, work across FirstEnergy, and deliver results - Intermediate-level analytical and technical abilities - Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels of FirstEnergy Corp. - Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make formal technical presentations to various management levels Benefits and Compensation At FirstEnergy, employees are key to our success.
