Iberdrola Renewables is seeking to hire a Career Energy Market Research Analyst. In this position, the job responsibilities are as follows:
* Maintain existing price-directional and trade-actionable energy market economic analytical models. Maintain existing, and help build/automate new, price-directional, trade actionable reports in MS Excel and Word for natural gas and power trader clientele.
* Communicate results of these models & reports to assist natural gas and electric power traders in making profitable transactions.
* Drive continuous improvement of these tools and communications products.
* Tool/model maintenance & construction is expected to require:
o Programming using VBA code
o Scraping data and other information from websites, compiling databases to store the retrieved data and information and working cooperatively with other Fundamentals teammates and our customers (traders, originators, etc.) to craft graphical products to report this information in a timely manner
o Using SQL syntax to query various databases
o Manipulating large datasets using advanced MS Excel, SQL Server and MS Access tools to create structured datasets.
* Maintain SQL Server database and related interface for Bentek data.
* Adhere to effective internal controls.
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems coupled with solid knowledge of finance/business disciplines, or comparable experience
* Solid skills in VBA, SQL, and MS Access programming, advanced knowledge of Excel
* Knowledge of the North American natural gas and power business and experience supporting a natural gas and electric power trading customer base in an analytical capacity
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
* A Masters degree
* A strong understanding of and experience applying statistical techniques.
