The Communications Manager will join the upstart Renewable entity of AREVA in North America, and will report to the Senior VP Operations of AREVA Renewable Inc and matrixed to Renewable Communications management in France. This position will be located in Bethesda, Maryland. This position is responsible for developing & implementing strategies, programs and actions designed to enhance the group's ability to:
* Design and Manage internal and external communications for the Renewable Business Group in North America.
* Shape the business group's environment for competitive advantage through communications tools.
* Employ communications campaigns utilizing social media channels.
Typical Projects You May Work On:
Design and implement communications strategies for the Renewable Business Group in North America, examples include: Brand positioning, B2B Communication, Operational marketing to support Sales and Marketing Campaigns, Daily Operations, Internal and External Communications, interaction with social media channels.
AREVA Renewable
AREVA is strongly committed to renewable as part of its strategy to provide its customers with innovative, environmentally friendly sources of energy. The Renewable Energies business unit was formed at the end of 2006 to:
• broaden the group's offering in technologies for CO2-free energy production and in particular to offer decentralized energy supply;

Wind power

Bioenergies
AREVA Bioenergies, a branch of AREVA Renewable, has a solid experience in the biomass sector having designed and built more than 100 biopower facilities in Europe, Asia and South America with capacity of more than 2,500 megawatts.
We supply turnkey biomass and biogas power plants that convert organic materials of plant and animal origin into energy. In January 2008, we acquired 70% of Koblitz, a Brazilian firm that supplies power plants fuelled with sugarcane bagasse and small hydroelectric plants.
On, September 24, 2008, AREVA and Duke Energy announced the formation of ADAGE™, an innovative joint venture dedicated to the development of green energy solutions for U.S. electricity customers with the aim of becoming a US market leader in biopower. AREVA Bioenergies will be in charge of designing and building the biomass power plants developed by ADAGE on a EPC basis.
AREVA Bioenergies Inc. is looking for talented and skilled individuals to form its US team to handle the engineering, procurement and construction of biomass power plants to be built across the US.
Hydrogen energy
Through our subsidiary Helion, we offer solutions for producing hydrogen by water electrolysis and for generating electricity with fuel cells. The fuel cell combines hydrogen and oxygen via a membrane, simultaneously creating water, heat and electricity. Reverse process is used in electrolysis.

Qualifications
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Communications Manager opportunity:
* BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communications or Journalism plus a minimum of 3 years of related communications experience. An advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience.
* Background in corporate communications, specifically in Renewable Energy.
* Depth of experience communicating through social media formats, including, corporate and personal blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and other multimedia formats.
* Experience in supporting the launch of a business in the U.S. to make it a leader of its market.
* Experience in a communications function within a corporate energy environment.
* Demonstrate strong business acumen and drive for results.
* Successful communications experience within a cross-company matrix environment.
* Fluency with MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project required.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
* Ability to communicate in French.
* Master's Degree.
* Renewable Energy industry communications experience preferred.
* Experience with Publigen.
* Advanced experience in social media communications.
