This is an exciting opportunity to join an exceptional company as a Financial Manager located in St. Paul, MN. In this role you will perform a variety of functions in support of the Sr. VP Finance and Accounting department. This is a Finance/Accounting hybrid role responsible for financial analysis of existing companies, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, journal entries and account reconciliation. This position is also responsible for process improvements and financial reporting of business information used to support management decisions.
Candidate must possess Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field. CPA/MBA desired. 8+ years accounting experience or 5 years experience with CPA/MBA. Experience in public accounting a plus. 3-5 years experience working with challenging projects analyzing financial data and interpreting results. Experience with accounting systems and expertise in creating financial reports required. Experience working in a multiple company/ entity environment. Familiarity with tax law and experience with income tax preparation and planning for profit and non-profit entities desired. Database proficiency. Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, including demonstrated presentation skills, effective interpersonal and team skills, and effective project management skills. Must be able to work independently and use own judgment/discretion. Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft suite of software. Ability to work with and understand a variety of people who have different needs and different levels of understanding of our business. Proven ability to influence and build effective working relationships with customers, peers, stakeholders, and community officials in order to ensure quality and timely delivery of energy. A long-term goal of District Energy St. Paul founders was to produce energy to meet its customers' energy needs using a highly energy efficient combined heat and power (CHP) facility that simultaneously produces heat and electricity. Ever-Green Energy was formed to develop the state-of-the-art and highly successful biomass-fired CHP facility in Saint Paul that has been recognized around the world and is used as a model for other cities and communities, especially given the escalating cost of energy and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
After the successful startup of the biomass-fired CHP plant, Ever-Green Energy began focusing on developing additional renewable energy projects. The company started expanding its team to serve an ever-increasing number of calls from businesses and communities throughout the United States needing creative, sustainable solutions to meet their energy challenges and reduce their carbon emissions.
