Position Summary:
An experienced Electrical Project Manager is required to manage multiple projects ranging in size from 100K to 50 million dollars. The ideal candidate will be a proven Project Manager with experience in managing multiple projects, including developing budgets and schedule to project closeout.
Qualifications:
* Develop departmental standards in line with company best practices and operational excellence
* Ensure all projects comply with corporate, site, local authority requirements, building regulations, state, federal standards and applications necessary to complete projects
* Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is delivered in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc.
* Ensure that proper leadership and supervision is provided to our craft employees and/or sub-contractors.
* Responsible for project staffing including appraisals, training and development
* Provide technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required. Identify, initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
* Assume responsibility for safety and financial performance of the projects managed. Provide safety and hands-on leadership to teams to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
* Support business development efforts by targeting the appropriate market, and clients that we want to service
* Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete the project.
* Oversee the estimate preparation for selected projects and review the contract specifications, drawings, takeoff information, etc.
Specific Functions/Duties/Knowledge:
* Excellent communicator with exceptional negotiation skills
* BS in Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
* Combination of technical, project management experience supervising safety, financial outcome, customer relationship, contract, means and method, subcontractors, etc. of 15 years with heavy industrial projects
* Travel is required and must be willing to relocate to a location around corporate headquarters
* Must be computer literate. Proficient at MS Project
* Experienced in cost estimating and forecasting
* Wind farm and/or substation experience is preferred but not necessary
