Senior Nuclear Instructor

Job Description: This position will perform Nuclear Training Department Instructor and Instructional Technologist functions. Grade level for the successful candidates will be based on education and experience.



Duties and Responsibilities include:



* SAT review of lesson materials for accredited and non-accredited training.
* Training department procedure/guideline development and maintenance.
* Coordination of Instructor Training Program including:
o Material development/update for initial and continuing instructor training
o Scheduling initial and continuing training
o Maintain the instructor qualification card current.
o Participating in training program and curriculum review board meetings.
o Instructing a portion of the instructor initial and continuing training
o Maintenance of supporting documentation (task,list,qualification,matrix,) etc.).
o Perform instructor observations and provide performance feedback.
* Participation in industry instructor workgroups.
* Primary group contact for industry benchmarking activities.
* Support Accreditation Self-Evaluation Report development.
* Support instructional staff and line instructors during all phases of the SAT process.
* Perform the normal instructor functions (needs analysis, material preparations, classroom presentations, etc.)
* Support site and off-site self-assessments.
* Develop and implement resolutions to training program improvement items.
* Participate in outage support activities.



Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:



This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:



* Occasional long, irregular hours.
* Use of a PC, computer terminal and/or telephone usually more than 4 hours a day.
* May require overnight travel.


Requirements

Qualification Requirements:



Minimum background and knowledge requirements:



BS in Education or Engineering / Engineering Technology or related science OR

AS in related science + two to six years commercial nuclear power or navy nuclear training related experience.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.



Preferred background and knowledge requirements:



* FOCUS Learning VISION software
* Detailed knowledge and nuclear experience with the SAT process.
* Two to three years experience in instructional technology or training program coordination.
