Job Description: AREVA is seeking a Field Superintendent (Supervisor, Nuclear Plant Maintenance)

This qualified individual will:

* Plan and direct the daily activities of a group of professional, lead or support personnel who perform nuclear plant maintenance work.

* Typically, the incumbent does not perform the work being supervised but provides technical guidance to subordinates in resolution of non-routine problems.

* Plans, organizes, monitors and controls the work activities of the group in accordance with customer

* requirements and company policies, procedures, and objectives.

* Trains, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports. May recommend wage adjustment or change of status.

* Supervises group's performance to complete projects within budget and schedule.

* Provides technical guidance to employees.

* Ensures adherence to regulatory and safety requirements.

* Provide proposal input for work activities performed by operations.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

* Bachelor's degree, and 5 years related experience, or 10 years directly related experience.

* In depth knowledge of machining and/or welding preferably both.

* Practical knowledge of ASME code requirements in reference to nuclear plant repairs/replacements.

* The ability to steer a project technically from conception to completion.

* Strong people skills that allow interaction with a vast range of personalities

* Possess the background, ability and knowledge to grow the group into a group of high performance field leaders.

* Ability to understand schedules and provide necessary input to schedules.


The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

* Technical expertise in nuclear plant repairs.

* Demonstrated leadership skills.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well with all level of staff and management.

* Good problem analysis and problem solving skills.

* Proficient in scheduling software P3 and/or MS Project, Excel spreadsheets, MS Word.
