Project Manager - Nuclear Fuel Reliability

Job Description: The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is looking for a Sr.​ Project Manager for the Fuel Reliability project engineer/​manager for the Fuel Reliability area of the Nuclear sector.​

In This Position

Working at EPRI is truly a unique experience and EPRI project managers perform tasks outside of the “traditional” project management role.​ Along with your typical project management duties, you will:

Interact with the team, Collaboration Advisors and Host Utilities.​
*
Resolve technical questions in a timely manner.​
*
Manage all technical and financial facets of the Fuel Reliability projects:

1. Identify technical needs and initiate project/​program.​
2. Develop project plans.​
3. Manage outside contractor
4. Ensure work assignments and cost control measures meet company and client objectives.​

*
Provide direct support to project sponsors
*
Develop and communicate project results, industry guidelines and technical reports to staff and utility committees.​

The Ideal Candidate:

*
Holds a Ph.​D.​ in Nuclear Engineering or related field.​ Masters may be acceptable in lieu of PhD depending on applicant’s relevant job experience
*
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous: mechanical properties of fuel and cladding; cladding corrosion and hydrogen pickup; fuel pool, hot cell, and test reactor studies of fuel and cladding
*
Has 2+​ years of project management experience in Nuclear Engineering.​
*
Possesses a general understanding of research projects from project definition to delivery and application
*
Understands industry needs and can identify and implement research and development solutions.​
*
Can perform/​manage multiple and complex tasks with limited direction, yet knows when to ask for guidance.​
*
Demonstrates a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.​
*
Possess excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.​
*
Can think “outside the box,” conceive of new R&D projects and directions.​
*
Works well in a team environment.​
*
Has impeccable communication, writing and presentation skills
*
Is willing to travel 30%​
*
Is willing to travel within U.​S.​

Is willing to travel internationally.​
