Description

A premier utility in the southeast is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager for its Nuclear Generation Group at the company’s headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Manager of Nuclear Systems Performance will set the standards and direction for systems engineering performance for the company’s nuclear fleet.

Responsibilities

The Manager of Nuclear Systems Performance’s primary duty is to ensure top quartile performance for each of the company’s nuclear plants. Results will be attained by providing guidance and support to station engineering personnel. Responsibilities include identifying best engineering practices and establishing fleet alignment of strategic initiatives. In addition to leading plant engineering personnel, the Manager of Nuclear Systems Performance will be responsible for six direct reports at the corporate headquarters. This position requires frequent independent interfacing with Plant Managers and Vice Presidents and NGG senior management, up to and including the Chief Nuclear Officer.

Requirements

Candidates must have a 4-year engineering degree and a minimum of 10 years of systems or design engineering experience in the commercial nuclear power industry, including at least two years at the superintendent level or above. Credentials such as a master’s degree, PE license, and SRO license/certification are highly desired. Candidates must possess outstanding intangible attributes such as communication skills, decision making abilities, and leadership qualities.
