Should an construction employer break the news of a termination to co-workers?

You must be extremely careful about what you tell your other employees about the termination because the terminated construction employee could sue you for defamation if you cross the line. It's best to tell your construction colleagues and subordinates that the construction employee has been terminated for the official reason (incompetence, violation of policy, etc.) and not to get into any details.
