ENA currently operates over 70 projects with a total installed capacity of 748.5 MW including; 406 MW of wind power, 314 MW of hydropower, 21 MW of biomass power and 7.5 MW of geothermal power. In December 2008, ENA became a significant part of Enel Green Power, the Enel Group division aimed at developing and operating power generation from renewable resources in Italy and around the world. Enel Green Power incorporates all of Enels activities in the wind, solar, geothermal, run-of-the-river hydroelectric and biomass fields in Europe, North America and Central and South America.

Enel came to North America when the Company purchased CHI Energy, Inc. in December of 2000 and renamed the acquired company Enel North America. CHI Energy, Inc. was founded in 1985 and focused primarily on developing and operating small hydroelectric facilities.
