EDF Energy plc is engaged in the provision and supply of electricity and gas to commercial, residential and industrial customers, the provision of services relating to energy, including purchasing of fuel for power generation, the generation of electricity and the operation of public, and private distribution networks. The Company has three divisions: Customer and Energy, Networks and Corporate. Customer and Energy Branch include the generation, purchase and supply of electricity to customers, and purchase and supply of gas to customers. Networks is engaged in the operation of both public distribution networks, and private distribution networks and PFI contracts. It transfers electricity from where it received in bulk, across the distribution systems and its delivery to consumers. Corporate is engaged in the provision of support services, including property, information technology and solutions.
