Energy Producers- Developers

Elemental Energy, Inc. is a small, locally-owned business serving the state of Vermont, owned and managed by Jim Grundy, who has been immersed in the renewable energy industry for over 17 years. His commitment in sharing his knowledge, and supporting the growth of this emerging technology brought him to the Jim Castles Research Center in Oregon for a project with The Nature Conservancy, and to India as a technical trainer for the U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory initiative in the islands of the Sunderbans in West Bengal. Within Vermont, Jim is one of the founding members, and currently serves on the Board of Directors, for Renewable Energy Vermont, an organization dedicated to working toward increased renewable energy use in the state. A frequent lecturer and guide for the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) annual home tours, as well as the Solarfest Festival, Jim believes that the role of renewable energy for our community, and planet, is a vital one. Jim is among the initial charter group of certified members in the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), a national certification program for installers of photovoltaic (PV) systems. Nancy Bruce is fairly new to the energy industry and brings many years of experience administering programs in both the private and public sector. Before 2005, when she joined Jim in the business, Nancy managed a federal affirmative action program for the State of Vermont. The program served small and disadvantaged businesses by providing business development assistance and training. Prior to that she was an education coordinator for the Women's Agricultural Network through the University of Vermont, and was again organizing business development opportunities for agricultural entrepreneurs. She now applies her extensive knowledge and resource base to the operations of Elemental Energy, Inc.! That's just a snapshot of Nancy's resume and experiences and what she brings to our work, but most importantly, she is a great match for EEI and our commitment to serving the people of our community and state. We believe in what we do, and we take a great deal of pleasure in doing it, and doing it well. Our business has grown almost exclusively through word-of-mouth referrals, and we like to think that is because of the importance we place on building strong and lasting relationships with our clients. Our home, family and community are in Central Vermont where we intend to live and thrive for many years to come. So not only do we provide thoughtfulness and technical expertise in the design and installation of your system, you will also have our continued availability and support. We appreciate your interest in renewable energy!
