Orleans Energy Ltd. (Orleans) is a Canadian crude oil and natural gas company. The Company is engaged in the exploration for, and development and production of natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids reserves within the province of Alberta. As of December 31, 2007, the Company?s production weighted approximately 80% natural gas and 20% light oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Orleans? production base is generated from five core producing areas throughout Central Alberta (Gilby and Halkirk/Leo), West Central Alberta (Pine Creek and Kaybob) and the Peace River Arch (Gordondale). During the year ended December 31, 2007, the Company?s natural gas production averaged 12,514 thousand cubic feet (mcf) per day and crude oil and NGLs production averaged 710 barrels per day.
