Sakhalin Energy has been implementing the programme since 2003 and is currently supporting 42 scholarship holders. The programme's participants have graduated from schools located in various districts of the Sakhalin Region - from Okha to Korsakov - and are studying at a range of prestigious Institutes and Universities in Russia. The Programme's objective is to provide Sakhalin's talented youth with an opportunity to receive a higher education in technical disciplines at some of Russia's best Higher Educational Institutions with a view to be further employed to Sakhalin Energy. Contest winners (having passed exams and successfully entered a Higher Education Institution) are provided with grants, which consist of a monthly scholarship or payment for educational cost and an opportunity to conduct work experience within the Company, etc.
