The UK branch of Terra Energy Services was formed in 2001. It started with a group of experienced oilfield services professionals with the same vision - that of energy businesses contributing to the developing countries in which they operate. We offer a range of services and technologies to oil companies and governments, particularly in West Africa and developing markets. We do this through a mixture of investment in indigenous companies and partnerships with leading and innovative technology providers. We have strong relationships with key decision makers in ministries, state oil companies and governments. The first fully operational indigenous company was GESeis in Equatorial Guinea. This was a joint venture between Terra and GEPetrol, the country's state oil company. In addition to arranging a number of licence rounds, GESeis has built up a multi-client library including 2D and 3D seismic data, CSEM surveys and prospectivity studies in a number of blocks in West Africa:Building on that initial success, Terra set up further indigenous companies in Angola, where the company is TEC, and Nigeria (Delta Plus), both operating along similar lines to GESeis. Terra is now looking to build on this initial framework, and is in the process of setting up more indigenous companies in Africa and in other developing markets.
