EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
NABHOLZ CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION – Lenexa, Kansas 2005 to 2009
Positions Held:
General Manager, Client Service, Kansas (2006-2009)
Construction Superintendent (2005-2006)
Accomplishments:
• Was promoted to General Manager, Client Service within first year of employment. This business unit was new to the Kansas office. I began my newly-created position with zero employees and zero revenue. Within three years, I successfully grew my unit to include 20 field employees and five professional office staff. In addition, I secured over $3,000,000 in sales during our second full year in business.
• Developed over 40 successful, solid customer relationships with many of Kansas City’s largest property managers, school districts and other private businesses.
• With over 80% of my customer surveys returned, I maintained a client satisfaction rating of 3.87 (on a scale of 1 to 4, with 4 being completely satisfied).
• Negotiated and secured a five-year contract with AT&T in the Iowa and Northwest Arkansas regions. This contract was to provide preventive maintenance services with revenues estimated to be $1,500,000 - $2,000,000.
• Was instrumental in helping Nabholz Construction Corporation acquire a $29,000,000 high school addition and renovation project in Hutchinson, Kansas.
• Successfully completed over $1.5 million dollars of projects as a Project Superintendent.
SHEET METAL WORKERS LOCAL INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION 1986-2005
• As a union employee, I had the ability to work with several different contractors and learned a variety of skills, including sheetmetal layout, fabrication and design, welding and field installation. I helped complete such projects as the fabrication of the “ornaments†atop Bartle Hall, the new office facility for Oakley Sunglasses (which was built entirely in the fabrication shop and shipped for onsite assembly in Los Angeles, California), and the Lied Center Organ Recital Hall at the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence.
• After beginning employment as a journeyman within a union shop, I typically was promoted to a leadership position within the field and/or an office management position within a few months of my hire.
• Was asked to become the “go to guy†for all telecom construction projects at Stadium Sheetmetal (Raytown, Missouri). This was an acknowledgment of my depth of experience, attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Due to the critical nature and the sensitivity of the telecommunications network environment, this is an enormous responsibility.
• Within six months of my employment with A. Zahner Company (Kansas City, Missouri), I was promoted a Project Manager/Estimator. A. Zahner specialized in architectural metal concepts unique to the industry, with a client base unique to the trade. I eventually was able to acquire new work throughout the nation and locally to enhance the already impressive resume of clients working with A. Zahner. A few of the new construction projects I managed include: Planet Hollywood (Tampa, Florida), Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Chicago, Illinois), Center of Science and Industry (Columbus, Ohio), UMB Towers (Independence, Missouri) and the Disney All Star Resorts (Orlando, Florida).
