I’m applying for a construction management position. I am a creative problem solver who enjoys challenging and unusual projects which utilize my experience and skills in both management and construction.
I’m a high energy professional who takes pride in completing my assignments on time and within budget while providing a top quality product. In addition to a varied and extensive background in the construction field I bring to any position a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a high level of motivation and attention to detail. Respect, commitment, value and excellence are what I strive to provide to my employer, my team(s) and my client(s).
A recent endeavor has been as the Head Project Manager for a unique very high profile thematic & environmentally sensitive construction project for the health care industry at the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison Wisconsin. That challenging project came to a successful completion in 2007 on time and within budget. I have been working as a construction consultant since completion of the hospital project.
My varied experience, which ranges from accomplished tradesmen to construction manager for high end custom contractors, architects & builders is a real strength as it allows me to bring my real life understanding of various situations, industries and construction issues to the job in a way that facilitates effective management of challenging projects.
Talents which assist me in the successful completion of my duties are my people management skills, precise record keeping, strong organizational skills, and the ability to make decisions and resolve problems quickly. Review and explanation of construction documents to owners, fellow managers, contractors, tradesmen and sales, continuous inspection of projects to ensure quality and practical adherence to budget, schedules, communication with and mediation between all involved parties are other experiences and talents I bring to my jobs. Some of my managerial responsibilities have included hiring, scheduling & supervision of many sub-contractors simultaneously in addition to in-house employees. These projects included responsibility of many ongoing jobs in various stages of completion.
I believe that I could be a valuable asset to your company in the position you offer and look forward to the opportunity to discuss this in greater detail with you.
Thanking you in advance for your thoughtful consideration of my talents and how they would fit with your company.
Sincerely,
William T. Hanley
