Please accept my application for the position of scheduler on your Project Control Team. I am confident that my background and skills will prove to be an excellent match for your needs as a consultant.
You are seeking a candidate who can manage or develop, monitor, and analyze project cost estimates, expenditures, forecasts, and schedules. My Ph.D. dissertation, entitled “Dynamic Resource-Constrained Schedulingâ€, completed under the supervision of Professor F. H. (Bud) Griffis. My resume, highlighting my ability, knowledge and expertise in project control and execution and construction industry is attached.
At Tuner Construction, my work focused on the Pre-construction phase of the Atlantic Yards Project in Brooklyn, As a project Engineer, I draft detailed cost estimates and developed value engineering. I also use Three-Dimensional modeling to prepare bid packages for steel structure, concrete foundation and exterior wall trades. By establishing a close and strong relationship with both the owner and the architect of the Atlantic Yards project, we were able enhance our mutual understanding of the 3D model and its use in the construction industry.
For the six years prior to joining Turner Construction I worked on several in-house projects at the Center for Construction Management Technology at Brooklyn Polytechnic University. Most notably, I collaborated on the construction of a new academic building, a new dormitory, a boiler replacement and a fire alarm upgrade. For these projects I performed various types of project control, construct Resource loaded Schedule and Work Breakdown Structure, cost estimating and scope definition. I also performed Risk Analysis and Value Management/Engineering for the mentioned projects and several other future projects including expansion of dormitory and academic buildings.
I have been teaching graduate and undergraduate Civil Engineering courses at Polytechnic University as an adjunct assistant professor since spring 2005,
Please contact me if I can provide any additional information. Thank you for your time and attention to my application. I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Very truly yours,
Pooyan Aslani
