Title: Construction Business Owner/Partner
Obtained Maryland Subcontractor License, Federal Tax I.D. Number, and assumed company name. As company owner, handled every aspect of small business management, while remaining hands-on in each project. As primary contractor for Case Edwards Management, and Severn Construction Company, performed apartment repaints, exterior paint and maintenance, as well as all necessary residential and commercial construction projects on 127 properties in MD, DE and PA. Employed 6 full time employees and various contract laborers.
2000-2001 Linbeck Construction Company, Inc., Houston, Texas
Title: Union Carpenter Foreman
Hired as a journeyman carpenter in 1991 to apply fire-code upgrades to the Texas Medical Center. Promoted to job foreman in 1992. Supervised 10-20- union carpenters, managed daily operation and functioned as a liaison between Linbeck Management and union carpenters. Rehired in 200 as Union Foreman, supervised all cabinet making personnel. Managed cabinet shop at Texas Medical Center. Supervised several interior build outs including: Maternity Facility, St. Luke’s Hospital; Intensive Care Unit, Texas Children’s Hospital; X-ray lab, MD Anderson Cancer Center.
1997-1998 Baker Concrete, Inc., Akron, OH – Houston, Texas Division
Title: Field Engineer
Hired as a Field Engineer to construct Katy Mills Outlet Mall in Katy, TX. Managed engineering personnel in daily operations. Handled all daily schedules, material orders, inventory and operations for site construction. Supervised 85+ employees in daily operations. Personally designed forms, systems and methods of application in structural concrete for data collection and storage. Designed tailor-made data collection program peculiar to job site.
1992-1995 South Coast Roofing, Houston, TX
Title: Chief Estimator and Salesman
Hired as Chief Estimator. Supervised all estimations, sales and new roof and repair projects for the company. Implemented several sales-oriented programs and generated a 75% increase in incoming sales inquiries. Oversaw all operations of jobs-in-progress and coordinated all subcontractors. Acted as the sole salesperson for all projects and trained all employees in sales techniques. Introduced the company to large-scale commercial roofing and residential roofing projects.

Hired as Union Carpenter Foreman. Supervised all cabinetmaking personnel. Managed Cabinet Shop at Texas Medical Center and maintained all company tools and equipment. Supervised several interior build outs, similar to previously mentioned employment with this company.

Title: Superintendent and Estimator
Hired as job foreman for all drywall/plaster projects undertaken by company. Worked as a drywall carpenter, finisher and painter. Promoted to Superintendent and supervised 8-18 employees at all times. Completed projects for: Kmart Corporation; Spanish Embassy, DC; Federal Express; U.S. Pentagon; John Hancock Savings and Loan. Trained in-house at estimation and began to assist in project estimated. Promoted to estimator and did blueprint take-offs at the Dodge Room for 24 hours per week.
