Entrusted to oversee business development, estimating, project management and field superintendent departments on behalf of this 150-employee general contracting firm. Additional accountabilities included financial management budgeting, cost control, client relations, joint venture partnership development, continuous process improvement, risk management, P & L management and conflict resolution.
• Led cross functional design, engineering, construction and management teams in multidisciplinary projects totaling $90MM in sales for FY07 and FY08 with average gross profit of 4.5%. Project management expertise effectively increased profit margins on most projects, improved cost tracking and reporting processes and brought all projects to close in timely manner.
• Assumed oversight of subcontracted project that was 5 months behind schedule, successfully overcoming all but 30 days of delay for client, winning $500K in back charges from subcontractor and avoiding possible assessed liquidated damages of $750K.
• Streamlined efficiencies and significantly improved profitability and productivity for company through creation and implementation of project workflow management software. Implementation efforts included development and delivery of process and fiscal management training classes.
• Saved local office at least $250K annually via assumption of numerous executive activities performed by 2 professionals in each of the other offices.
