Superior leadership on critical design/build projects could make the difference between meeting forecasted results and achievement of business goals. If your firm has a need, my expertise in successfully managing multi-phase projects to comply with contracts and local ordinances may be of interest.
Throughout my career, I’ve turned around struggling projects to improve productivity and quality, reduce costs and foster long-term organizational success. I also launched new businesses, quickly achieving positive cash flow and developing a loyal customer base to ensure continuing success.
Possessing excellent business and organizational skills, I led a multi-million dollar bank remodel, directing the complex project to successful completion. For a local SBC/AT&T operation, I optimized service protocols, saving time and boosting customer satisfaction ratings to enable additional projects.
My skill set includes business planning and development, process improvement, project management, policies and procedures, startups, turnarounds, multi-site management, cost control, safety and training.
I am a strong believer in continuing education, earning degrees in Marketing Management, Productions Operations Management and Business Management from Mott College. In addition I hold a Builders/Contractors License plus a CDL-A License. I am willing to relocate for the right offer.
If what I have to offer resonates with the needs of your company, I’d welcome a call to discuss the possibilities.
Sincerely,
Gary L. Evans

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Led multi-million dollar bank remodel, restoring order out of chaos for key DBC/IBT client. Bank remodeling project was plagued with construction issues including 30 architectural change orders, site foundation errors and limited staging space for materials and equipment. In addition, client required bank to remain fully functional during entire remodel. Took charge of large-scale project and supervised subcontractors through all phases. Achieved regulatory compliance and oversaw staff performance to ensure site safety. Directed complex remodel project, avoiding potential work stoppages.
Played key role in jump-starting major DBC/IBT project, managing all phases to successful completion. Commercial project was behind schedule before construction started and client required immediate evidence of progress. Lacking a complete set of plans, analyzed available project guidelines and initiated process to “buy out the job†using preliminary sub-contractor selection process. Quickly selected contractors and moved forward to groundbreaking and project oversight. Completed all work on time and within budget, saving relationship with key client.
Turned around potentially volatile construction environment, preventing delay of DBC/IBT project. Selected to supervise remodel of branch office for large national bank. Local staff and management were not asked to participate in preliminary plans, leading to confusion and strained relationships with corporate management that could have jeopardized the multi-million dollar project. Met with staff and addressed major concerns. Provided clear information on scope of work and expected outcomes. Created plan of inclusion, allowing input from local staff and successfully completing project.
Established service-response protocols for SBC division, dramatically improving “repeat call†rating. Division needed to improve service performance. Quality service was based on number of jobs cleared (equipment successfully repaired) in eight-hour period and repeat calls reduced the quality rating. Analyzed repeat call data for frequency and job complexity. Conducted all second and third call backs, providing valuable information to improve first call solutions, reduce additional service times and boost customer satisfaction levels.
