Project Manager - Construction with an objective to create projects with ingenuity, class, and purpose, with a team of qualified and talented personnel.
Michael Green
Functional Role and Responsibilities
I have worked as a project manager, estimator, superintendent, and technical inspector in the General Construction trade, but have also worked in a civil contractor’s trade in Northern Arizona. As you will see below, I have traveled from Pennsylvania, to Phoenix, AZ to Honolulu, HI back to Phoenix, AZ and now to Flagstaff, AZ. I enjoy the aspect of working in different locations as they present different challenges. My current position is as a project manager with a large General Contractor for a premier scale development in Northern Arizona, but I have a lot experience in government funded projects which should show that I am someone who distinguishes himself as one who wants to get the job done, not the part I play.
Career Highlights
In my current position of Project Manager, I am overseeing the construction of (92) $1+ million semi-custom homes, (22) $1 million semi-custom townhomes, and completed (3) $2+ million custom homes, as well as several out lying buildings through out the development. This upscale development has a rating of the #4 golf course in Arizona, and prestige of being the #1 rated development in Northern Arizona. My responsibilities included but were not limited to the contract writing (subcontractor, and owner), scheduling, resource management, pre-construction services, estimating, and master scheduling.
My current employer though well known in the Arizona market place is sectored in a private market and due to current economic conditions they were not well geared to transition from the private sector fall out. My experiences in governmental programs such as universities, public education facilities, military facilities, and housing authorities, I hope to offer a wide diversification of experiences.
I began my career as an estimator and project manager for a TurnKey Construction in Williamsport, PA which specialized in industrial construction, educational renovations, and housing authorities, while also reaching into the local universities, banks, and hospitals. It was a great learning experience being able to see the wide diversification of clients but also to do work from every stage, meaning “if I estimated it, I ran itâ€. It showed me a great deal of ‘hands on’ management.
In a previous assignment I was a project manager, estimator, & technical inspector for 3D/International, I was responsible for a variety of small to medium sized construction projects as well as the daily office operations. In a unique construction delivery method, Job Order Contracting (JOC), I meet with clients to assist in the development of project definition, provide detailed cost estimates, negotiate with trade subcontractors, and oversee the construction of multiple concurrent projects. My projects have included life safety upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and major additions and expansions of educational facilities.
I played a key role in helping establish a new office in Flagstaff, AZ and providing JOC services to the Northern Arizona region with projects ranging from $10,000 to $4.3 million. Some of my previous clients included, Flagstaff USD, Tuba City USD, City of Glendale, Amphitheater USD, and Dysart USD.
As a technical inspector for “The Mall at Pearl Harborâ€, a $50 million project that is the largest and most expensive Commissary and Naval Exchange in the world, I was responsible for costing, material acquisition compliances, and material inspections. Another of my duties was in the design review process in which we had several design conferences ranging from 30 people to 100 people, in which I was responsible for organizing, and planning.
Some of my other notable projects include; Project Manager for Scottsdale Unified School District’s $120 Bond Program, project manager/inspector for a $7.3 million ASU dormitory, as well as scheduled, estimated and design reviewed the Little League World Series Stadium in Williamsport, PA.
