One can only imagine during these economic times how many qualified individuals there are out there. So you have to ask yourself, what value do I bring, and why I am more qualified then the next guy. Some of these types of questions can be answered by looking back at my work history.
My work history is very diverse. I started my career as a CAD draftsman in a structural engineering firm. I accelerated at this position and was promoted within this company several times. I managed all aspects of the drafting department. On several occasions I was outsourced for onsite superintendant work. I worked closely with architects, general contractors and subcontractors. With problem solving as one of my greatest strengths, a General Contractor and client of the structural firm hired and trained me as a project manager. I worked on a number of projects from full site and building construction to large and small tenant improvements projects. I always have had an outstanding working relationship with both sides of my construction team. Building owners knew I was striving for the best pricing while maintaining schedule and quality and subcontractors recognized I was not a guy who was going to be unfair or unreasonable to there interest either. I actually completed a project were the building owner, with the approval from my superior, tipped me for having the project so far under budget while completing the construction as scheduled. In working with one land and building owner in particular, he saw potential in me to represent him in an owner’s consultant and project manager position. I represented him during the design phase and at all levels of the city approval process for a two part, multimillion dollar, forty acre, twenty-two commercial building site. I represented the owner and managed the general contractors during the construction of the buildings. I self performed my own general contracting services and completed all the site infrastructural work as well as several tenant improvement projects within the buildings. Again I am very confident in my abilities and I have succeeded in many different positions.
I feel my strong attention to detail and teamwork philosophy, coupled with demonstrated experience in many aspects of construction will be an immediate value to your company. Should you agree after reviewing my resume and project history, I would welcome a personal meeting to further discuss your needs and my ability to meet them.
Thank you for your time.
