VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES —Employed by SOC LLC, a division of Day & Zimmermann, and a leading governmental construction, security and training provider, headquartered in Minden, Nevada. Lead the HR and administrative functions for a growing organization with 4 unions and over 4,000 personnel worldwide. I reported to the Chief Executive Officer and supervised a department of 24 (August 2004 – December 2008).
Key Achievements:
â– Established the HR department, staff, benefits, HRIS and procedures when the organization
was only months old, which successfully supported over 1,200% growth in less than 4 years.
â– Assisted in the development and structuring of a sister training company, from inception to the
present, profitable, full service division that provides services for external clients.
â– Conducted due diligence on all aspects of HR and risk management for several operational of divisions of Day & Zimmermann that resulted in a successful merger with SOC.

DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES AND RISK MANAGEMENT — Klamath County Government, Klamath Falls, Oregon. Responsible for all human resources and risk management for a municipal corporation, with 5 unions, and over 800 employees. Reported directly to the Board of Commissioners, supervised a staff of 5 and a budget of several million dollars (2001 to 2004).
Key Achievements:
â– Oversaw and renegotiated all existing labor union contracts, including Teamsters, LIUNA, and
OPEIU, using a collaborative approach that resulted in reduced costs and enhanced operations across 27 departments including; Public Works, Building Office, Sheriff’s Office, Landfill, Environmental Health, Veteran’s Services, Mental Health, Museum and others.
■Conducted due diligence and managed the subsequent successful merger of a local, non-profit, outpatient social services provider into the organization’s mental health agency.
â– As chairman of the telecommunications committee, I saved $25 thousand dollars annually
through consolidation of telephone, Internet and cell phone services into master contracts
which capitalized on the collective purchasing power from all county agencies.
â– Restructured the HR and Risk Management functions with no service disruption to the
organization while saving over $50,000 annually.

I was a hands-on director responsible for human resources, industrial safety and administrative functions for a multi-site organization.
