Facilities Manager/Engineer (2002 – 2007)
• Managed facilities and maintenance for tire manufacturing plant in a 24/7 production environment. Responsibilities including hiring, firing, managing staff, performance reviews as well as buildings, grounds, HVAC, and utilities.
• Managed the production maintenance organization consisting of five managers and 152 craftsmen assuring tire production was un-interrupted by effectively leading the operation.
• Developed and maintained monthly operating and maintenance budgets consistently staying within budget. Budgets ranged 500K per month.
• Strategically managed major projects including mixer, calendar roll or extruder replacement utilizing both in-house labor and contractors assuring labor costs were maintained.
• Served as plant environmental coordinator, overseeing monitoring and reporting functions with corporate and governmental entities including EPA and TCEQ. Requirements included air, waste water, storm water, and solid waste.
• Managed re-cycling program initiating the development of the process to de-water the white sidewall dust, assuring all re-cycling programs were compliant.

• Provided production support by trouble shooting and improving designs to tire manufacturing equipment including calendars and curing presses.
