As a Site Project Manager, I am responsible for supervising day-to-day activities of all parties associated with various Commercial Construction Projects, as well as compiling and reporting all pertinent information dealing directly with these projects, to the Owner of Charter Construction. I am responsible for maintaining business relationships, and developing new relationships whenever possible. It is my duty to see that every job finishes on time and under budget, whatever the circumstances.
I successfully managed a construction operation, consisting of ten employees. It was an exciting opportunity to utilize a full array of skills in order to see each project to completion, on time and under budget. Some of my responsibilities have included custom designs for single family residents, developing new business-to-business relationships, creating detailed project take-offs from preliminary stages through product completion. I also managed over each trade involved in the construction process, while effectively tracking day-to-day activities.
Markel Homes Construction Co. Colorado Project Manager 03-04 / 05-06
As a project manager for the largest custom builder in the state of Colorado, I was responsible for contributing to all designs throughout all stages of the construction process. My duties also included checking blueprints, before they went to field superintendents, to assure all plans were congruent with product specifications, and all building components complied with local building codes. I was responsible for preparing detailed take-offs of all materials and labor needed to complete the projects. I would also solicit bids and award contracts to vendors / suppliers, create and maintain project guidelines including budgets and schedules. Before construction began, I would arrange regular meetings with all parties involved, to assure all expectations were congruent with product specifications and provided all cut sheets as well as written materials detailing the scope of work to be completed.

While working as a Carpenter for Ed Bently, I feel that I was given a golden opportunity to work along side a true craftsman. I was able to contribute to multiple levels of the construction process while learning hands-on skills, all the while. We handled every trade, except the mechanicals. This experience played a vital role in my work ethic, knowledge of construction, as well as the personal abilities I possess today.
