I would like to secure a position within the skilled trades, I am a Master Carpenter with many abilities in other trades. I have obtained my California General Contactors license and wish to pursue any management/laborer position within a reputable company.
Objective
I would like to continue pursuing my extensive construction career. I work to a very high standard and would like to find employment that allows me to continue to serve communities and employers with high quality of work and detailed craftsmanship. My objective is to continue using my extensive experience which has been formed over 25 years in many different trades. My California General Contractors License was obtained in 2003.

Work experience
January 2007 thru February 2008 CIS, Inc. (Commercial Installation Services, Inc)-installation of commercial cabinetry, desks, vanity, trim work. To include blue print interpretation for configuration of installation of area workstations. Installed at various sites: reception areas for hotels, hospital, courthouse and jails. I left due to the company closing.
January 1998 thru Present: I have managed my own construction business. I began as a handyman business and established a clientele through word of mouth recommendations and various contacts made through the years.I have been very successful in my business and have established kitchen and bathroom remodeling as my main stay. I am journey level in various trades. Carpentry(Rough/Finish), Plumbing, electrical, tile, sheetrock, fencing and decking, cabinetry, painting. I perform these jobs at each of my projects to cut down on sub-contractor expenses and to keep up with current codes and technology.I have a close professional working relationship with several realtors in the Palm Harbor/Tampa Bay area and do repairs for the homes they own/manage.
November 1996 to December 1997: I was employed by Kaufman and Broad. This company is a major developer for new homes. My duties began as an Assistant Superintendent at the Skypark project in Scotts Valley, Ca. My duties included organizing and coordinating sub-contractors in the finish end of the phase I entered. I walked the homes and produced detailed punch lists. I coordinated the sub-contractors and created schedules to complete units for homeowner turnover. I was eventually promoted to Superintendent at this project. My duties included scheduling and coordinating sub-contractors and K&B personnel to start new phase of construction from under ground, up. I was also tasked with cleaning up the back phases of the project as I discovered numerous homeowner complaints and dissatisfied homeowners. I met with homeowners each evening to walk homes and to produce punch lists of discrepancies. Also scheduled and coordinated repairs with sub-contractors and homeowners. I trained assistant superintendent and customer service representative to read and enforce contracts, walking homes and producing detailed punch lists and scheduling and coordinating sub-contractors. I scheduled inspections from under ground up to turnover of homes with city inspectors. I scheduled inspections with homeowners at various stages of production as a means of better customer relations and to insure upgrades and bonus options were correct. I enforced company policies and procedures with sub-contractors and K&B employees. I scheduled and coordinated weekly safety meetings with all project personnel.
December 1990 to October 1996 I was employed by Summerhill Homes in Palo Alto, California. This company was a developer of new homes and subdivisions. I began in the detailing of newly built homes to include: discrepancy punch lists of new homes and then fine tuning the work of sub-contractors prior to homeowner walk-throughs. The work included carpentry, tile, finish plumbing, electrical work, painting, taping, texture, and installation of appliances. I was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of the developments I was placed on duties requiring plan interpretation, city map inspections ( mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural ), creating unit punch lists, organizing and scheduling sub-contractors, managing prep crews, organizing and scheduling homeowner pre walk-thru inspections at various phases of construction.
I was promoted to Superintendent and placed on a start up of new development projects and created the position of finish superintendent within the company. My duties involved the overseeing of project start ups. Working closely with project managers and construction managers, I organized and scheduled sub-contractors, and managed critical path, scheduling, and walking inspections at all phases of construction from rough to final and c of o (certificate of occupancy ), to include working with various departments of cities and government concerning core samples, environment, and contamination. I also managed the grading of streets and storm and sewer work, envelope of homes layout, foundation, to actual coordination of the home building process from start to turnover to homeowner.
I also created and organized an entity within the company to handle the end product of all homes so the project superintendents would no longer be slowed at this end of the project and delayed from proceeding to start of new construction phase of projects. I was tasked by the vice president of construction to create and organize a team of employees to manage these projects. This involved the training of new and existing employees in the ability to manage the units and sub-contractors. This included organizing and scheduling of sub-contractors, creating unit punch lists, organizing and scheduling final inspections, scheduling and overseeing the installation of option final products, scheduling walk-throughs with customer service department, and organizing and scheduling customer service work at unit turnover to homeowners, and scheduling and reports of all units at all projects with vice president on a weekly basis. I also was tasked with training all new superintendents and assistant superintendents, and customer service personnel in company policy and procedures.
December 1985 to November 1990 I was emplyed by Jack Wade Construction in Santa Cruz, California. This involved building new homes as well as remodeling and additions. I became a journey level carpenter and working foreman. This company did all the work involved in the building, remodeling, and additions of homes. I gained extensive skills in foundation, framing, plan interpretation, Inspections both rough and final, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, sheetrock, lathe, and finish carpentry work. I managed jobs from start to finish and trained new employees and apprentices.
December 1984 to December 1985 I worked at the Watkins Johnston Company in Scotts Valley, California. This involved building shipping crates for chip burning Furnaces for overseas shipment and misc. parts.
June 1982 to December 1984 I worked at Carbonero Creek Travel Trailer Park in Scotts Valley, California. This involved maintenance and construction at the park premises. My duties included maintaining the pool and spa equipment and irrigation systems, water supply, drainage systems, sewer and streets systems, landscaping, and electrical systems. I drove heavy equipment, including backhoes, steamroller, and crane equipment. I gained experience in asphalt, plumbing, electrical and landscaping and sewer and storm systems.
August 1980 to December 1980 I was employed at Pinellas Roofing and Tile Company in St. Petersburg, Florida as a tile maker. This involved working with concrete and dies in a mass production line creating various types of roofing tiles.
From January 1981 to June 1982 I worked in the retail business at The Southland Corporation in Santa Cruz, California. This involved all aspects of retail: stocking, ordering, and cashiering.
From November 1977 to August 1980 I was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
