Professional Experience
• 2007 to 2009 -- Tico Construction, San Jose, CA. Superintendent on an OSHPD I 1.2 occupancy kidney dialysis clinic for Fresenius Health Care NA. This twenty-four chair clinic was equipped with an indirect waste system, reverse osmosis water, acid, and bicarbonate chemical delivery system; a ninety percent HVAC filtration system was also installed for this clinic. Daily interaction with special inspectors, building dept. and OSHPD inspectors added to the complexity of this project which was finalized in December and currently awaiting FDA approval to operate.
• Supervised a successfully completed project for Macrovision in Santa Clara, CA, located on the first floor of a multi story building. This restaurant project included a new kitchen, servery, and dining room along with installing a 4,000 gallon grease interceptor. Responsible for managing and insuring no disruptions to electrical and mechanical systems while maintaining construction personal to work side by side with tenants and their employee’s. Project was completed on schedule and received its building final certificate and health department approval.
• 2004 to 2007 -- West Builders, Oakland, CA. Superintendent in charge of managing daily activity on a large corporate center tenant improvement, this project consisted of an exterior building shell remodel to four 62,000 square foot buildings, a 2,000 square foot entrance lobby addition, to the plaza. Upgrades of the interior courtyards and landscaping. Exterior enhancements of the existing buildings included installation of an aluminum composite panel system, entry doors and curtain walls.
• Supervised and managed all aspects of commercial tenant improvements and chemical delivery systems from mobilization through punch list and demobilization including client relations and cost control of general conditions on various commercial tenant improvements.
• Main project was a $3.6M TI for Callidus Software located in a 15-story high-rise building in downtown San Jose area. Project consisted of interior demolition on the thirteenth floor and rebuild per architectural drawings. Project was completed on time and within specified project budget.
• Superintendent responsible for the completion on a 76 unit residential condominium project, which required strong organizational skills due to limited project access, for construction traffic, equipment, and material deliveries. That required traffic lane closures also maintaining pedestrian safety at all times weekly interaction with OSHA, and public works officials, added to the superintendant’s daily responsibilities. This included maintaining project schedule, subcontractors, and vendors, also to ensure both quality control and project compliance.
• 1998 to 2003 -- Technical Builders, San Jose, CA. Various projects consisting of modifications to chemical delivery, HVAC, and scrubbed exhaust systems at the research laboratories for Roche Bioscience in Palo Alto, CA.
•Superintendent in charge of daily supervision on a 75,000 square foot $4.5M TI for Charles Evans and Associates, a commercial analytical laboratory. Responsibilities included maintaining construction schedule and coordinating subcontractors and inspections , project included modifications of analytical labs, including wet-sinks, casework, chemical delivery systems, and Class 10 & 100 clean rooms. This project included daily interaction with client management as well as the design architect.
• Supervised all construction activities for various projects at Loral Space Systems, in high Security controlled areas, also tenant improvements to administrative buildings located in Mountain View, CA.
• Superintendent for several projects for clients such as, Samsung Electronics, Sun Microsystems, Advanced Micro Devices, also Teledyne McCormick located in Hollister, CA.
• Other projects include tenant improvements at Stanford University consisting of ADA and seismic upgrades to campus facilities and student housing throughout the Palo Alto Campus.
